Well since we didn't get a chance to introduce ourselves previously as I added Invasion defender on release day to the database, I figure it would good all round for us to introduce ourselves this time round.
So who are you?
Simon otherwise known as 'Shallen' is the programmer and therefore the brains behind our projects, he gets everything working and generally sorts me out when I cry like a baby that a certain feature isn't implemented or I break something, he also handles all the file management and all build backups.
I am John, otherwise known as 'Bronco' on the interwebs and I am the artist for our projects, I do all the major visualelements and though Simon does most of the GUI's I tend to give them an artistic sprinkle before we call them done, I also advise simon on any artistic problems that require programming elements , sort out art pipelines and art asset back-ups.
We both actively throw in suggestions and ideas for our projects and the Invasion Games Series is no different.
So,who is Invasion Games and Who is Zicorp Studios?
Invasion Games is just the name we both develop under, this isn't a registered company and doesn't even have a website but its more professional looking to come up with some form of group name.
ZiCorp Studios on the other hand is at the other end of the scale, It is a registered UK Company and is run by Paul Cowper. Him and me (and a small team of other contributors) have been working on another indie project called 'Sekultara' for about 2 and a half years and its still well in development, the deal Invasion Games has with ZiCorp is that we will add ZiCorp Studios as a development associate in our projects in return for marketing help and a space on the ZiCorp website for product downloading if the need arises.
For me of course this is in my favour as I have my hand in both 'pots' so to speak.
How do you guys know each other?
Simon (or Sybe as I call him) and myself worked at the same company for a few years working as programmer and artist respectively, through this time we worked on several major commercial projects together right up until the time we were both unceremoniously given the boot. We live quite close to each other about a 50 minute drive so its easy for us to meet up on an odd weekend and work on our projects...or just go for a beer....both these things we will be doing in the next few weeks for IGS.
Just a note:- I have set myself a target to release news updates every weekend from tomorrow. Not sure how this will work but we will find out.
if you have any questions or comments drop us a line and remember to watch us to keep up with our happenings.
