I am curreently in a state where I am doing really great progress on my goals for this mod.
And those are:
-New gameplay mechanics (more on realism)
-new units that are somehow...important I think
-new functions (e.g. moving starbases level 1)

Well, although the mod is still...a good while away from being releasable, I can already say that I am really happy about how it got. In the last two weeks I understood more of the gameplay mechanics thatn in the last half year.
add two new factions, as republic and cis with many land and air units
it is an idea but at the current state I won't add full nations.
Ground combat is way too complicated right now.
You have to, other than with space skirmish, create animations for your units. Those take ages.
