High-poly weapon models now in-game! New video from berserker@quake2 source port, quake2xp in future!

Posted by on

Finally models in game. It was hard, but now all is good and you can see live test of rocket launcher with animations, glossiness texture, bum-mapping etc. Source-port is Berserker@quake2, but models can work with other ports.

Check last video at mod page:

Also check new video with railgun!

Now all we need is a difficulty overhaul mod for Quake II.

Normally, I know how to mod Id games or at the very least edit values in the actor files. However, with Quake II, I just cannot find those files.

as i understand, you need to edit source files and make mod, because ai is hard-coded, maybe, their values too. i can ask Barns (q2xp) or Berserker about this some later.

Looking really cool!

The models are compatible with other ports, so they're md2 models?

now its md3. we tried md2 and md5, first has "jewel" vertex or problems with normals, md5 - low compatibility. maybe, more formats in future.
