Please refer to the documentations folder in the mod download for an installation guide and the manual to the beta which contains information about the new features. The installation guide contains important information to do with playing on steam and how to run the game so WSE works properly.

It is with regret we have to announce that this version of warsword conquest is not compatible with the Mac version of warband due to the necessity of WSE which is essential to the correct running of the mod.

HOW TO INSTALL THE MOD

- Step 1: Download the mod
- Step 2: Unpack it using WinRAR
- Step 3: Now you should have a folder which has another folder inside with all the files of the mod. Take this last folder (the one with the files) and put it into M&B Warband's Modules folder
- Step 4: Go to your main M&B Warband folder, locate the file called "mb_warband" and either put it somewhere else or rename it EG. "mb_warband_original"
- Step 5: Enter the mod's folder (the one you put inside Modules) and enter the first folder (1.170 exe). Copy the file you find there and paste it inside your M&B Warband folder.
Now you should have "mb_warband" (the one you just put there) and the other file you renamed (if you didn't put it elsewhere).
- Step 6: Delete (or put somewhere else) the folder TexturesHD from the main M&B Warband folder.
- Step 7: Go in the mod's folder (the one inside Modules) and enter the folder named WSE.
- Step 8: Launch the game from the WSE Loader. Select the mod in the drop menu in the launcher and then launch the game.


For those that had the WSE Loader telling them that it couldn't find mb_warband.exe. Launch the game at least once from Steam and then repeat the 1.170 downgrade.

Dear Warsword fans,

It has been 2.5 years since our last release and while the new version of the mod is not completely ready the team has decided that it is now in a playable state and that the best way to get to discover all the issues which need fixing is to have our player base feed back to us their experiences.

Many of the magic schools, diplomacy (late game) features and map/battle/magic balance since all the changes have not been tested with much thoroughness so feedback on all accounts will be appreciated.

In the mod download is a documentation folder with some key documents including the installation guide which must be read and followed for the mod to work properly. This version of the mod uses warband script extender (included in mod, no need for separate download) which has it's own special installation instructions.

I would like to extend my gratitude to Kraggrim, Burspa and Marshal_157 for joining the team and allowing the scope of this update to increase 3 or 4 fold. Without them a lot of what we had done, especially on the visual front, would not have been possible. Many thanks also to the trusty Polloio and gsanders for their valuable contributions and to all the others whose works have helped us put this version together. There is not a changelog as such but there is manual in the documentation folder with information about some of the new features and skills.

If you have a bug you would like to tell us about you can either post on this article or for the fastest way for us to see it join our discord Discord.gg and post in our bugs section. A list of known bugs will be listed at the bottom of this article to help bug reports from being duplicated.

Please note that diplomacy has not been tweaked yet politically so unrealistic alliances and defensive pacts can occur.

When you are resting in a location and it get sieged you don't get taken into the battle automatically when they move in to attack. You have to click.

Ghost ships of player ship can be left on shore after you leave

Make sure you followed the installation guide inside the documentation folder. Load up the game from the WSEloader, make sure you DELETE OR MOVE the HD Textures out of the mount and blade folder or the game will have its native looks(towns will look vanilla etc). Also if you are not using 1.7 version of mount and blade (if you have 1.7.4 like me) then replace your mb_warband.exe file with the one given to you also on the main mount and blade folder.

Game crashes for me as well in battle. I have done all of the above but in the game launcher it still says I am on 1.7.4. Is this normal for it to still say I am on 1.7.4 despite using the .exe given to me?

I have a similar problem, but it is not always ... mostly when I fight against chaos dwarves, bevor it crash it says in the log something about a wse error and i installt it right. Its frustrating, i love this mod but i can not anderstand whats going wrong...

Yeah I get crashes when fighting against chaos dwarves. Not sure about when playing as them though.

Yep, frequent crashes with chaos dwarves here too. Usually when they receive reinforcements, which makes me think it's a certain unit, or type of equipment, that's causing it.

Still downloading but wanted to give you guys some feedback on this. Thank you guys so much for your dedication and working on a mod for warband while Bannerlord might be around the corner. Easily best mod in my opinion; keep up the good work!

I tried helping my allies the arab's against a goblin attack and a couple of minutes into the battle my game crashed. i dont know the reason why. it was right after i killed a spider rider.

I'm playing a dwarf and I get into contact with forest goblins often. Each time I fight forest goblins in a normal battle I crash after some time into the battle. Each time. Honestly all I do is just teleport away when forest goblins are about to attack me.

I've tried getting quests from village elders and i've literally gotten 10 quests about cattle being driven away. i have not recieved any other quest.

Yeah, i just fought goblins again and my game crash there is definitely a bug there. the mod is looking awesome and i understand that it is beta. I dont recommend picking the empire right now as you will most likely have to fight goblins.

When I am doing as it is in the instructions, after starting the game, the trial version starts and I can not do anything about it.

Got the same issue. Had to copy WSELoader.exe and the rest to main folder because of the "could not find mb_warband.exe" error. After that, running WSELoader.exe prompts "you are runnig an unsupported version" error. When I switch the original mb_warband.exe with the one from module folder I get the trial version message. And my serial number (GOG edition) reads as invalid.

I've got the same issue, it let me play for a while but closed me out after a bit. I can't really find a way to get it to play normally. It was fun while it lasted, it'd be great if someone offered some help

There's also the fact that for me it still says its version 1.174 on the menu where you choose which module you want. Dunno if that's important.

I got it fixed. After I uninstalled/reinstalled, google search "warband trial version serial key" there should be some results with different serial keys. try putting each of them in until one works. the one that worked for me was from yahoo answers

Holy sigmar this mod just became huge ! loving it ! the new units are great, chaos is even more awesome now with deamon lords; deamon units and avatars from the different chaos gods.
Most races have gained new units and tweaks and also alot of supremely cool 'super' units and overall alot of new voices aswell.
Ran into a bunch of random events - one was a stranger that offered to make my character permanently more powerful but he needed something more than half a bag of grain in return :(

The magic is a great addition, Mekhar the unmaker (or something like that) casts a spell and annihilates a dozen units per cast with huge bright blue orbs (henceforth known as Blue balls)... Made me want to reroll to a caster right away. Its not without bugs but nothing game breaking for me.
(sometimes i lose prisoners without any message or a lost battle, a few quests that cant be solved, war/peace declarations are iffy at times)

PS: anyone seen Cyrus the bright so far or any of his brothers ? :)
Thanks a ton for the work you put in there, looking at just the item lists it must have been quite the task but you made a great mod even better by a huge margin

So got it working and been having fun with it, but I've run into a problem with the stability suddenly going down the drain. I've tried a few things and I think it might be related to Sultanate of Araby? Consistent crashes when I fight their units.

Beyond that things seem to be working great, the addition of bandit dens over the map makes the early game way more fun as you actually have weak enemies to grind against.

After some experimentation I was able to stabalize it a bit, I think it might be related to spells/long-term effects?

My laptop which was running it got really hot and I think its the effect stacking taking up more and more processor until it crashes, and as the effects wear off they stop being tracked.

Still love this mod, just wierd that I went from running it completely fine to regular crashes that seem unrelated to any in game settings. Hopefully as you continue to do amazing work this will get solved.

I'm having the same problem of the game crashing when fighting goblins, well bandit goblins at least, not sure what the issue is since I did the install and opening via wse right, might just be a bug, hope it is only with goblin bandits

Update: You have to walk around for a day or so and then osef Fleisch appears again

I commented on the file as well, this is an updated comment though.

Couple things and bugs I've figured out and questions I have after playing for about 20 hours now. I'm running a chaos campaign.

First question, is there any way for me as a player to get the Daemon Prince units into my army without rescuing them from other armies as prisoners? Follow up in relation to this, for testing purposes, I noticed that I can search for and use any item at will. Is there any chance you will add a mechanic similar to the item search, but for units instead, so as to be able to test specific units?

Second question, I've noticed that some villages do have khorne, nurgle and slaanesh tribesman for hire, but I cannot find any Tzeencthian tribesman, is this on purpose, or a bug?

Magic seems to be working really well, however, I'd like to question the encumberance mechanic. I know you said its for balancing, but balancing what exactly? We cant play online/with other players. The only reason I bring this up is because there are plenty of "multi-classing" characters in the warhammer universe, most notably, IMO, is chaos sorcerers. Any chance the encumberance mechanic(as it relates to magic) will be changed at all for certain lores of magic or for certain characters or factions, or maybe add a checkmark box to turn it on or off?

Also, another thing on the magic system, I noticed that you dont allow its use in sieges, I would really like if you could add in at least a checkmark box to allow players to choose to allow its use in sieges or leave it turned off.

Thats it for now, overall loving it so far, thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the mod, its like a christmas miracle ;D

Totally agree. Especially with the encumberance and that there is no magic in sieges. That just sucks so much. This isnt MMO for it to be balanced. Fun is in imbalance itself :)
As you said - adding checkmarks for allowing magic in siege and disabling weight mechanics would be great.

Bugged quests, crashes etc. Not playable in its current state. I'd recommend sticking to the previous version.
