Just a small post regarding the status of the boycott, and our current direction.

The two admins of the boycott were invited to visit Valve, and were impressed by the company. This does not say they were bought into anything. They were shown around, and had the pleasure of talking to the L4D team as well as many other members of the company. To say the least, they've learned a lot about what is going on for the future of the L4D series.

After going through what they wrote about their trip, I've found they are both still at full lead on the boycott, and our goal has not changed. They both expressed their opinions on the subject, so go take a read for yourself on the last dozen news posts on the steam-group page if you want the whole story. Walking_Target said quite clearly that he still felt L4D hasn't got what it should have yet, and not even a half price weekend could coax him into buying L4D2.

To be clear, the boycott is not over, and will not be over until our goals are achieved, which it soon seems they will be. Thanks everyone who has been supportive of our cause on moddb; every individual counts. To those who are against, keep the constructive discussion going, but try and keep the flaming to a minimum.

On a different note, as to the ban in Australia, Gabe (I believe it was him) is traveling to Australia very soon. Can't be a coincidence...

~Cheers

I would post news more regularly if the moddb group community was showing more active support. If anyone would like me to bring more of the news as it comes, as well as a bit of my own on the subjects, just gimmi a shout.

Many of you might just be using the forums and group pages as much as I am, so you wouldn't need me to post anything to be informed.

Australia saw fit to ban the game due to its unnecessarily graphic content. Gabe himself is set to go there to discuss the issue and try to get L4D2 sold there.

It wasn't banned, it was censored. ._. Stop fabricating news, fagola.

Censored was what they did in Germany, banned is what they did in Australia.

Censored means the game was pussified, banned means it will not be sold.

Valve should of just hire some goons to take them out. Like they did to turtle rock after left 4 dead was released.

Should post up the new boycott group page so anyone who still feels a part of this can join up and show their support. I'm already liking the guys on the top.

*facepalm* You really think they're not going to sell L4D2, just because a bunch cheap *** enraged **** dont want to pony up 50$ for it? What about the other billion people who can't wait to buy it? This all is pretty much useless.

I find it funny that you not only show that you don't know what a boycott is, but you don't seem to understand what a cult is either.

It's new if you haven't played the first one! Might as well just call it L4D and recall all original L4D off the market.

Actually, when I read the article, "Ban" was used. Gabe would not have made a personal flight there had it been a simple censorship. Possibly it was because he went there it became a censorship.

Also, this post was like 3 months ago. Get with the times man.

wait wait WAIT
any reasons to keep boycotting this game? it's off the top now, back to the trash, just like they did to l4d.

you guys wanted it 2 be free? nothing is for free unless you do something for it

Did you read our summary? Did you follow the boycott at all? You're a year late to the party.

What do you mean keep boycotting? It's a boycott. It doesn't end unless we buy/play the game, depending on your standards. This group is just for a few people who have opinions to voice them.

We never wanted it to be free, but fair. And your final sentence makes no sense.

Well it's just go to the Boycott group, more than 80% of the people in it bought L4D2 around release...so yeah, doesn't send a message.
