This week our team focused on adding one more level and adding an animated player, as well as many smaller improvements. Our new level includes a new boss fight, which we included since our previous boss fight was a highlight for our playtesters. Level design was also improved to accomodate more for our newly animated player model, which means we are no longer a capsule character! Other than this, there were many iterative and quality of life improvements to the game, like improved scene transitions, an improved and smoother dash mechanic, and re-balancing the first boss and area to make it more true to what we wanted. We also wrote our first track to start the Tennis Hero OST! We felt this week that our game really needed a climactic ending, so we hope our final boss fight, making a total of 2 epic boss fights, results in a complete and engaging game.
Next week is the final week in class for Tennis Hero, so nothing major will be added. However, we want to make strides in our lore and dialog, so expect more explanations as to what on Earth is going on. We will also be implementing more balance changes as those are important to tweak and get right. Thank you so much for playing Tennis Hero!
