Our Source Engine sci-fi game, Underground to Escape, is back on tracks: fresh media and open recruitment for level designers and other artists.

Hey everyone!

There has been some progress lately and our sci-fi Source Engine game, Underground to Escape is back on tracks! Basically, it will be half puzzle-game, half shooter, with what we think will be quite a unique plot and storyline.

If you're interested in helping us with some creative content (mapping, game design or anything else) and ideas (especially regarding game mechanics, script and storyboarding), don't hesitate to contact us at uteproject@gmail.com or via ModDB .

We're glad to announce that Underground to Escape will be featuring an original soundtrack produced by several artists.

Hi!

We're not aiming to sell it. It will simply require Source SDK Base 2013 (which is available for free).
As for distribution platforms and other aspects, we'll see in due time.

I like your project a whole lot and will track it from now on.
That said, i really do feel the need to warn you for something. We see it so often that people have a great idea and they start with it. But over time they start to realise they can't develop what they had in mind simple because they don't have the right people in there team for it.
And when i read a text like;

then emidiatly i hear myself saying, this mod/game will never be released. Please don't get me wrong, because i would love to see you succeed. But as a long term modder/mapper myself i have seen way to many great mods die just because of this reason. That they needed people for being able to make there idea. You will notice that it is very hard or even impossible by now to find great mappers, modelers and specially coders and or scripters for Source projects. Simply because only a few of us are left, most have moved on to newer games and engines or even indie games. So again, please don't get me wrong, i hope to be proven wrong. But it is probably best to scale down your idea, in to something YOU can make, even when you don't get any help from others.

Hi,
Thank you for your interest.
I have to say I perfectly understand your concern.

That's something we've also been discussing as a team. We needed to set realistic goals and that's the reason why we've been rescaling the project and slicing it into 'Acts'. Our current goal is to produce a playable alpha of Act 1 by the end of the summer.

The main issue in our project is time as we're doing it on our free time only. Our team is already self-sufficient in a way but new people joining us and helping us will make it so that the whole development effort can be more efficient.

That's why I left it vague in terms of requested skills. Because any contribution will be appreciated and anyone can join. This said, what we need the most at the moment is an additional level designer/mapper.
