At the Sundance Film Festival, CEO of production company SpectreVision, Lisa Whalen, announced a new partnership with Ubisoft to develop VR content. SpectreVision is Elijah Wood's production company, and it will be working with Ubisoft's Montreal-based FunHouse Studio - a branch of Ubisoft founded to create less-traditional gaming experiences than the company's triple-A blockbusters.

“We're thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Ubisoft to explore the innovative and burgeoning technology that is virtual reality,” Whalen said. "Together, we can tell an infinite number of unique stories in a bold and original new format.”

Wood, who has previously starred in Oculus Story Studio's short film Henry, added, “As a longtime gamer, I’m first and foremost a fan and admirer of Ubisoft, so to be collaborating with them within the realm of VR is an incredible treat!”

Though no titles have been announced as a result of this new partnership, Ubisoft FunHouse has already developed a VR experienced called Eagle Flight. The game sees you flying through the streets of a long-abandoned Paris, and will involve 6-player aerial dogfights between eagles. Eagle Flight is being released for "VR devices" including PlayStation VR.
