Greetings and good day, folks! It's been a hefty amount of time since our last update, but don't worry: we're still working insanely hard at Troopers. I'm not here to talk to you about how that's going, though (judging by the amount of time I'm around these days, I really can only come out of the proverbial closet for relatively big stuff). No, we're here to today to talk about something quite fun: LAN parties.

For the uninitiated (Don't you just hate that phrase? Makes you feel like everyone sees you with hot fudge riddled through your brains. Sure, it may make you think that everything tastes like chocolate, but in the end you still have to shovel food in your mouth. And no, that made no sense.), there is a cable network here in the U.S. called TechTV (www.techtv.com) that concentrates on -- you guessed it -- technology when it comes to its programming. What most folks consider the absolute best part of TechTV is the daily (during weekdays, anyways) live show they run at 7:00 PM EST, 4:00 PM PST: The Screen Savers. Guest stars big in the technology, gaming, and computer worlds regularly show up, and they have a lot of great bits that they like to do to wow audiences. In general, it's just a fun show to watch for an hour.

Every Thursday, The Screen Savers hosts a LAN party. It’s not really a LAN party; anyone and everyone from across the globe can sign up to be a part of it. Nevertheless, they call it a LAN party, and basically they play a game the whole show on that day (Thursday, remember?). Well, this coming Thursday, TSS will be hosting a LAN party featuring Troopers: Dawn of Destiny (www.ut2003troopers.com). It's both a great honor for us, and really, really cool.

Stay tuned for more info once we come closer to Thursday, . Until then, drink more Troopers -- it's hot fudge for the brain.
