To the Moon is an RPG/adventure game about two doctors traversing backwards through a dying man's memories, in order to fulfill his last wish of going to the moon.

Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have rather peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all in their head. But due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before drawing their last breath. This story follows their attempt to fulfill the dream of an elderly man, Johnny. With each step back in time, a new fragment of Johnny's past is revealed. As the two doctors piece together the puzzled events that spanned a life time, they seek to find out just why the frail old man chose his dying wish to be what it is. And Johnny's last wish is, of course... to go to the moon.
I have never gotten this emotional over pixel art. It always astounds me the magic a few small pixels can do with a what looks like a truly engaging story. There are few things that can get grown men to cry, and I am humbled to say this trailer was one of them. Fantastic work and absolutely love the music.
ur right. if i get the money I'd buy this.
I'm holding back an urge to cry here... Amazing...
Happy to see Freebird Games releasing this game.
Quintessence - The Blighted Venom, another game by them, is a masterpiece.
Wow, just... wow.
I just found this game out, and I already can't wait for its release.
Wow, the execution and polish on this thing looks impressive! Amazing that this is done with the RPG Maker Engine; what is the gameplay like (or is more like an interactive story)?
Thanks for the kind words, folks.
As for game-play, a sizable portion of the game takes place inside the memories, in which you have to activate mementos in various ways to travel through them. Puzzles and mini-games are scattered where appropriate as well.
That being said, this is still a story-oriented game, and there is no battle system or leveling/grinding.
This is one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed on the internet. Congrats, you have my sincere interest.
I want that soundtrack
Wow! The game play is really not my usual style so I may not by this game but the story seems really unique, intriguing and very moving. Maybe if Hollywood payed more attention to the incredible imagination of some of the individual/small teams developing unique games such as these, we would have more great movies and less of this constant fluctuation between good and horrible. If they made a movie with this story I would love to watch it. Excellent work! :)
Looks fantastic :)
Not my usual storyline or striving interest, but I must say, I have not had chills sent down my spine since Aeris dies in FF VII. Unique, Polished and Potent. I will look forward to its release.
