It's newstime again in the Tolkien Modding Community, the first ones in 2020. I hope everyone has had a good start into the new year! Lets hope it brings a lot of new contentin our favourite mods ^^

Released or updated mods

The first update of the new year has been done by the developers of the mod Age of the Ring for Battle for Middle-earth II: Rise of the Witch King. Version 4.1 has had some technical difficulties at the beginning but meanwhile you can download and install it without problems. The update brings some bunch iof bugfixes with itself and balance changes. Additionally you will find new map assets for the World Builder and a couple of new maps. You can look up the full change log >here<. And you can download the new version 4.1 >here<

Let's put a maggot hole in your belly...

Activity at modding

Here I will start with Venlesh and his mod Legends of Middle-Earth 5.0 for the game Age of Mythology: The Titans. He is looking back on a fantastic year 2019, with getting closer to a growing LOME community, he even made a short documentary video for looking back, and gives a glimpse on what to expect in 2020. Venlesh is looking forward to manage an update to version 5.0.4 which fixes a lot of bugs of the version 5.0.3. The update will feature further re-models and even a few surprises. 'The New Shadow' campaign seems to be finally wrapped in in 2020 and he seems to work eagerly on Random Map Skirmishes. Have a full read about what might come >here<

In their fourth blog about the current state of the mod (you can find it >here<) the developers of Lord of Universalis for the game Europa Universalis IV are also giving some sneak peak of what they will try for in 2020. All the regions and areas on the new map have been finished by MacBeth, he also created a new top banner (UI) and a new button for events, which can be seen on the first image below. DKstranger has been working on changing technology groups a bi, all human technology groups have now be merged into one. They are also looking forward for review or ideas, so if any of you have something in mind, let them know ^^

New UI (WIP)

Coming to the Total War series, which fill out the rest of the news: First a big welcome to another new modding project, Conflicts of Eriador for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms! If I have understood it correctly, they first wanted to make another submod for Divide and Conquer but will now try to work out a new worldmap which concentrates more on the region of Eriador. People with knowledge how to create a world map are welcome at their discord, have a read about the recruiting >here<

I was happy to see some news at the modding project DCI: Last Alliance Total War. Ngugi posted two screenshots with the unit cards of the Numenorean Kingdoms which are avilable across Middle-earth.

At the mod Third Age: Fall of Arnor a nice Northern Kingsguard has been presented

The developers at Silmarillion: Total War have also written down an update log. All six of their alpha factions are now ingame, a large number of elven battle editor assets has been included and some faction preview for the Easterling factions seems to be on the way. That are only bits taken out of their blog, so have a full read >here<. They also mention a PvP campaign going on at their discord, so feel free to join there if this caught your interest ^^

And for the end, some Teleri Archers at the modding project Last Alliance: Total War for Total War: Shogun 2
