Hey! Long time no news post..But thats because the team has been workin extremely hard to get the mod out :) . Today I bring you 2 important news. #1 Is short and sweet. The trenches mod has reached 98% in completion, and we have heard that the only thing remaining is to smooth out animations and misc. stuff. #2 is another contest! Here's the direct words from Hotel Security (Leader and historian of The trenches mod)
I am pleased to announce the second "The Trenches" sponsored history quiz! If you missed the last one, you're in for a treat, the prizes are a lot better now. The quiz, unlike the previous, will be all about World War I, since this IS a WWI mod. Questions will deal with people, places, terms, and other aspects of the war. Questions won't be stumpers like last time, and questions that no one gets will be discarded for a new question.
Here's how it works:
You show up (Date yet to be determined!) in #thetrenches IRC channel on the Gamesurge network. I'll ask the question, in bold, in the channel. You'll have 15 seconds to PM me with an answer. Please don't PM me with talk, or asking for answers, since I'll be counting the time and watching my program erupt with new windows. After the time is completed, I'll announce 'Time is up" and judge the answers. If the answer is close, I'll give it to you!
CRITERIA:
-NO SEARCH ENGINES.
-Do not ask me, or other team members for the answer.
-....Really, don't ask me, I won't tell you the answer.
-Do not post the answer in the public channel. If it happens accidently, the question must be discarded. Leave a window open to my PM box so you don't make a mistake!
THE POINT SYSTEM:
-20 questions will be asked.
-Every correct answer merits 1 point.
-Get a question right that no one else can answer and you get 2 points!
-Two BONUS questions will be asked. Get it right, and you get 2 points!
-Get a BONUS question right, and no one else gets it, you get 3 points!
WINNERS:
The top 1/4 of the players will be awarded with the beta a night early before the release, for a special game session with the game developers and contributors. You'll get to brag to your friends that you killed Hotel or spawncamped Dos or headshot Terminus, or maybe even getting your ass kicked by the_Leprechaun. Who knows, you may even get your head blown away by Cpt-Coke's! Isn't that your life's goal? Well, if it isn't, come to the contest anyway.
