After 8-10 months of programming, a few "signs from beyond" , and a lot of thinking,. the new version of SYNTH 1.0 FREEWARE BETA 0 has been released,. it's a much different game, has a new base gameplay mechanic, and much improved graphics. SYNTH now takes the following specs: Q9550 or greater, and a Geforce 260 or equiv. 4GB system ram.
The "hand of god" imagery and the "phantom surface" are a must see for all suspicious freaks, and math art heads,. a must see to believe,. a 8-9 dimentional computation produced GODLIKE imagery,.. oh well,. what was supposed to happen after typing in the word SIN over 700 times :). Please note that the HAND OF GOD, can only be found in the 32 bit version, and the 32 bit VERSION WILL NEED THE /3GB OPTION,../3GB,. /3GB (see the manual addendum for details).
woah looks good. How well do you think a couple of 8800 gts512's will handle it? I surpass all other requirements...
Sure,. give it a go,. and let me know,. I love hearing people's specs and performance,. I'm one of those guys who buys a $250 dollar graphics card every year,. got my eye on a geforce 275 right now,. I had it running decent on an HP with a geforce 230 today,. it was ok,. SYNTH really is bottlenecked at the GPU,. so graphics cards speed it up,. later today I am going to release BETA 1,. and it has a bug fix in it, that speeds it up, and prevents the BIG frame drop,. give that version a whirl as well,. it's faster,.
Again,. I'd love to know your experiences with the game,. performance and stuff
4GB of RAM? That's 89% of gamers out of the frame right there. Store.steampowered.com
Not all gamers have done steam hardware survey.
And 4GB of RAM is not that much actually.
How many gamers committed enough to own 4GB of RAM don't have Steam installed? The survey isn't optional any more.
Not that much in what useful sense? According to 82% of steam users, 4Gb is that much.
I barely have 2Gb of ram, and its a laptop, so I really can't upgrade or do much to even try out this game.
The big problem with a 4gb requirement is that 3gb is the limit for 32-bit OS's, so you're putting a massive userbase right out there.
I got 3-5 FPS with my specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.5Ghz)
Ati Radeon 3870X2 HD (512mb vram)
4GB of RAM
OS: Vista x64
(buried)
LAWL do you need 4 gig ram if so you FAILED
I have 8GB RAM, but a 8800GT 512MB.. so I don't think this will run too well? Unless it is equivalent to a Geforce 260, but I don't think it is.. right? (Haven't really been following the gfx card developments the last 20 months :/)
Oh, and a Intel E6850, probably too slow as well :(
Great to see more proceedurally generated assets in mods!
I personally like the fact that this is a 'high end' mod since so many cater to the low end, why not have one that really pushes some concepts and requires high end specs. Great job and keep up the great work, its great watching this one evolve :)
I'm not seeing a keyboard and mouse... looks like a glove to me.
so bad that i dosnt work on my computer :(
yes! Synth update... RELASED!
The title says "SYNTH(tm)"..
I assume that you have trademarked that title?
If you go that far to trademark a name for your game, then you shouldn't use that "Papyrus" font you got in that banner.
You have to buy the licence for that I think.
Looks like a interesting game, I'll try this :)
My graphics card surpasses the requirements quite considerably, but why does this game even need that intense of a GPU? I mean it looks really cool and all that, but what advanced features does this use to make the requirements so high? I'm sort of a graphics guru FYI, so feel free to use fancy-shmancy terms. :D
