We've been busy this week getting as much of the core mechanics for Pirates done as we can manage.

Special Thanks to DotCam and TKMaster for the majority of work on the Ocean and basic Ship controller.
Benjamin for the majority of Galleon model

Our combat and weapon's development testing in the obstacle course map.

6 sword swings, 1 block. Sword collision is 100% physical. Still more work to be done though :)

The musket on day 1

By day 2, more VFX detail.

WIP Bomb.

Renders of some of the weapons, tiny little gifs don't do them justice.

The new overture theme

Thank you both for your kind remarks.

I'm asking a question on our social media:
Which feature(s) in Pirates are you most excited to see developed?

I think one of the most exciting things about being a pirate is fame (and fortune). While this has nothing to do with ingame mechanics itself I would enjoy seeing wanted posters of your characters in the game loading screen or lobby, having an increasing bounty on your head as your rank goes up. Then add features like customizing a flag to be displayed on your ship once you have a high enough reputation.

Basically just give all players the possibility to become a legend and the competition will be enormouos.

Not a bad idea, I like it :)

Maybe you could even add a system, where at the end of each round you get some gold for winning the round, and then you could spend it on aesthetic accessories for your pirate, maybe?
