Post news Report RSS Stalker Two-K canceled

Its canceled, but its not like it was active that much for past months....

Posted by on

Well you could expect that by looking at mod page, and lack of any actual content/updates on it.
I had some new files, like remade vehicles(I managed to make all buses and stared to make trucks) and fixes ready, but gathering them up and pack them its just annoying so you will probably not gonna see them. The same with new grass that I deleted from moddb because it suck really(it was beta with just new models) and even if I had brand new map mask(new placement for it on levels), it was just too time consuming to compile them and test in Stalker SDK...
As for new models that I posted here and on my profile site, it is also canceled, and because they lack test/polishing it will not be released(people would cry that something is broken...).

I know that it sound bad when I tell that I "had stuff" and now I will not give it, mod is dead, but you need to remember that people complain about small things and if I would post unfinished files just like that without fixing them they would cry that they dont work or they miss some files(bumps, thm, or lack of folder structure).

Overall thats it.
Normally I have tendency to burn bridges behind me(deleting all files) but for now I will leave Two-K as it is, others use it anyway and others just steal it without even mentioning where they get it... :D

I will probably go back to stalker in next 3-4 years, but for now im off...

In my opinion, it's always better to release what you've made, than to keep it to yourself after you've shown it to the community. Others can always improve upon whatever it is that you made.

But I get the decision, good luck.

It's a shame that this is cancelled, it was one of the only texture projects I was following/had faith in.

Whatever you do, don't delete any of the files and I do hope you consider releasing what you have or at least consider coming back to work on this more. If you do release everything do a mega pack with everything in it so people can at least have a somewhat complete experience without having to hunt for the individual files.

Those are very sad news, since this is easily the best S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Texture Pack, which I, ever seen. However, I understand your decision, since making the Mods for this series is very difficult.

This really is a shame, you were posting some really awesome stuff lately. I hope you decide to release it so others can work upon the foundation you've built.

I'm sorry to hear that. Your decision is understandable and a very logical one. Hopefully you'll find something to be passionate about after your (temporary) retirement.

What are your plans for now (unrelated to stalker)?

As for usage of the Stalker 2K, I assume the license remains the same? (contacting you when using the texture pack).

Thank you for your hard work and the great content you've released over the years.

Good luck out there, and my best wishes to you.

Thanks for sharing with us what you have, even if the project is over. One of the better looking texture mods for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Finished, but not forgotten.

Every time I see a post like this hits me a huge depreciation. No doubt Stalker Two-K must have appeared in the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mods and was one of the best release in Pack of Textures, even larger than Absolute Structures. Every time I see a post like this, I remember my 4 years dedicated to a mod made for SoC that never came to moddb, only in Brazilian sites and Private Communities of Brazil. We had changed SoC from the feet to the head but we got discouraged in the 4 year of work ... Many have no notion of the headache that we had working in Xray Engine .. Sincerely I have 7 years of experience with Unreal and there everything is easier without comparison with Xray Engine, say that it is easy is not, in any Engine if it is to produce something great you have to put your studies in day to day to improve more its development, but Xray Engine has disappointed me enough and is not atoa that me and my team we abandoned the mod and buried it completely ... There is only one 18gb file to download, but it gets so many errors that it would be imprudent to put them to Download. I appreciate these warriors like you and others also who have dedication by Xray Engine, Lost Alpha, Anomaly, CoC and among others deserve my respect.
