SPECIAL MISSIONS

Missions have various requirements of attributes, skills, and even characters. With the new release 'PW: We, the creatures!' all troops gained complexity in their psychological character. Humanitarian character won't help you raze a village, but Nihilist will do it with a pleasure. Aristocrat will be ideal to conduct diplomatic mission to Orders, but Egalitarian will be perfect to send him on hard negotiations to minor factions.

Currently available missions:

  • Speed up Doomsday Clock to fasten triggering of day 666, incoming of abomination.
  • Turn BACKWARDS Doomsday Clock
  • Send your tired Companions on well deserved Holidays
  • Improve relation with...
    • Place [town, castle, village]
    • any Primary or Secondary-in-Command Noble of Any Faction.*
    • Orders (Digital Legion, etc.)
    • any minor faction
  • Recruit troops...
    • of any major or minor faction [over 30 to choose from]
    • of any slaver or ransom broker, including outside 'guilds' like Justice League, or Legionnaires.
  • there is hope** that there will be created respective missions tree for 'sabotage' missions, that could compromise, or harm other creatures or even places. For instance a mission that spoils town's food reserves, to force hungry garrison to a battle in the open field.

* There is no political correctness in creatures' world, however well mannered creatures do not use term 'lord' or 'lady', because traditionally it refers only to humans' traditionalism. If you want to avoid potential insult it is better to address their excellencies as Primary or Secondary-in-Command as this how they should be addressed on any civilized court of any faction. Also those ruled by strictly Human government.

** Very High position on 'to do' list.

Mission mechanics:

To send companions on mission, just talk to him. There is a new dialog line [Missions]. To check current state of any mission / companion, check Reports - and there will be new menu - [Companion Missions].

EVERY HERO in the Paradigm Worlds, all lords, kings, pretenders, merchants, ladies... have varied characters and background. In this article let us focus on other matters, however. Let us just remember, that your companions have characters and moral beliefs.

Some character types might refuse to do mission for moral reasons. They will explain what kind of problem they have, so can choose someone fitted better.

Successful mission outcome depends, however, heavily on companions stats. Each time you choose mission, your companion will give you short description of a mission. Hero will tell you which attributes and skills are most important for that type of mission. It is up to you - decide if it is the right creature for that kind of adventure.

SPECIAL MISSION Paradigm Worlds

As you see - knowing well your closest friends becomes important part of the game. Planning their future career might be right thing to do.

Mission can be SUCCESSFUL or FAILED.

Example:

Sir Goerind as an Aristocrat will not parle with minor factions but he is an ideal candidate for a military attache. He might help you improve precious relations with the Orders.

not that ideal Paradigm Worlds

Well, maybe not THAT ideal.

Success is followed by profit, but FAILURE HAS its CONSEQUENCES too.

In case of mission failure expected should be the opposite effect. For example if a mission is about improving relations then negative outcome means ruining them. But you may also worsen relations with village's owner, Companions REPORT BACK and give description of everything that happened, so leader will be fully briefed.

Any outcome is rewarded by experience. It is shared between 'agent' and player - his mentor. Success - obviously - is rewarded more generously. Outcome may also result in gain or loss of honor, renown, or sanity, or even all-in-one.

Below two sides of the same coin: Blaeth'c Vs Hexer. They were both successful, but their missions were opposite.

It is up to you if you want to be good or cruel.

Missions are perfect extension of your politics. Enlightened ruler wanting to lead an Empire can not do everything himself. You can conduct diplomacy with minor factions or recruits best troops or organize garrison fast after conquest of any center. Good leader should know how to use missions to ensure loyalty of his nobles.

Very interesting and would take a good amount of time to develop, its a cool idea and be great to see ingame but just take your time with it and ensure that it isn't going to glitch out the other parts of the game.

|That's why you see so many DEBUG messages. Oh, I skipped pictures with debugs. There is lot of them and don't worry. As far as I know it runs all smoothly and it is just a part of an even greater scheme. All I can say is that even testing missions is fun, playing full thing will be great.
