Okay everyone, I know it's been a while since an update and I can explain. Source sdk has totally sh*t the bed. When I open hammer, the grids and views are totally blank. The 3d view is all messed up with everything being tinted like yellow. So mapping has come to a total stop so there's no media to show... If anyone can help with this whole mess it would be a great help and I will put you in the credits for the mod. I've tried running hammer with lower dx versions but when I compile the lighting is totally screwed up and all the props are black. Also faceposer just crashes at start but that's not really a pressing matter because I don't really need it right now. I've tried re-installing to no avail either. So someone please hit me up with some good news. I want to map sooooo bad right now.
Source SDK is not helping
you use 3d shaded texture?
This is beacause valve decided to update Half-life 2 to the orange box engine :( Many other mods have gotten the same problem.
Which engine version are you using?
When Valve released the SDK update, I could use the 2007 version without problems, but the 2009 version was messed up. However after the newest update, running in the 2009 engine version works just fine, but now the 2007 version is bugged for me.
I have the same problem mapping in GMOD.
I'm using the orange box engine. @cplRush- You mean in the viewports?
Cryengine2 it, seriously
Honestly I would if a couple things happened. If i could one, have the engine ( I currently only own the first Crysis), two, I have almost no exp mapping and for that fact have no idea pretty much how to do any customization off of that. And last but not least I just love the source engine, honestly valve just needs to either allow you to use a non-updated (working) version of the sdk, or just leave it alone completely, why fix what's not broken? O and to anyone else who reads this comment, I'm thinking about a reward for whoever can fix this issue.
