Today we have a major update. Our lead programmer, Zerohour, has been very busy coding in our weapons and I have been working like mad to get our custom arm and weapons models rigged and animated. We have completed a set Japanese weapons and are moving fast to complete the class based code, in a push to get our "demo" version released to the public. It is a pleasure for me to announce that our internal alpha testing phase has begun, and that we are finally seeing the fruits of our labor in each new version of our code build.
I would also like to welcome few new team members. First is superfly and smilie, two very talented level designers, and AIprojectX, a talented modeler who will be helping with a variety of tasks.
Finally, here are screen shots of our Japanese weapons, with all new custom arm models and bone structure, coded in by our lead programmer.
Please stop by our web site for more media.
Looks cool but hge screenies are tiny
The weapon models and hand positions look horrendous, but the map is cool.
Pishi - If I could only ban you from moddb. You really need to stop bugging my mod and go learn how to work on your own.
@ KillerKind
Though i don't agree with pishi he has a right to critique your work. You should accept critique and suggestions with open arms.
ne chance of larger screenies?
Visit the site for larger images - Mindtripstudios.com
Salohcin - I do, but Pishi has a grudge against the mod and has been posting negative comments on our forum for a long time. I had to ban him twice, the last time for good.
Looks amazing from what I can tell(small screenshots).
Is it just me or are the screens really dark?
Bland and dark.
All right, what have I said that was wrong on your forums? Just give me one example.
And the thing is, I'm pretty sure that they are using the grenade models that a modeller, Wulf_Pac has created for Stepping Stones. For proof, I ask Killerkind to post an image of either grenade model, and I will post a picture of the one that we have. I'll leave it up to the moddb'ers to make their decision
Actually, if you look at the same larger pictures on the mod's website, the weapon models aren't bad at all. The pistol model looks quite nice to me. I would post some of larger screenies on moddb if I were you, KillerKind.
I'm sorry that my grammar is so horrible.
hard to see for me (very dark)
Too dark to see much here too.. I don't have my monitor very bright because i'm obsessed with my blacks being BLACK. If that's the style of play, fair enough. Models look groovy, I really like the idea of the mod.
visited the site, looks great u got some nice maps there, the dark map pictured its hard to tell but im sure it will play well
@Killerkind
Sorry about making assumptions ;)
definately change up those idle positions. They don't look very good. but whatever you guys wanna roll with...
really dark screens, katana is nice.
Very impressive! Great work!
@ pishi
I don't know if you ever had a look at the mod's team page...but actually it says this:
"Craig Kelly Wulf_PAK Project Assistant/Lead 3D Artist"
So I guess it's up to him to use his models for whatever he wants...or am I wrong?
@Killerkind
Awesome work on your mod...been watching this for some time now and I really like the progress, although I think you should rework the hand-position on that rifle and the sword.
Although im not sure about the way in which pishi says his criticisms i do agree the hands looks slightly off because the skin is very 1 shaded and the fingers are different width sizes, you can see this clearly on the katana. I think the way to improve this without alot of work is to really put in a more detailed skin of the hand creases and lines. You could do it by upping the size of the skin by 2.
I really appreciate all the comments and crits. I do apologize for the minor errors in view model positioning and such. I will make some more adjustments using the feedback I have received here, as these were really very rushed by me, in a two day time frame, to get the weapons code progress out to the public.
Remember, we are looking for help in a verity of development positions, as can be seen by our home page help wanted request. I just didn't want to put that in the news post here at moddb, as that might be reason enough for them not posting the news at all.
Regards,
Killer`
I like the visual style of the game, it looks gritty and earthy, very good.
