On the last months the development of Six Sides of the World has reached a state in which we are not going to add anymore gameplay elements and we are ready to create the remaining levels of the game.
We've been working on new core mechanics, to create a deeper and richer experience. Much of these mechanics are oriented to the planetary manipulation.
- Allow the planets to rotate around a custom axis and create the controls to use this feature as part of the puzzle
- We have created some orbit controls to allow them to rotate around other planets.
- Created elements to manipulate the water on the planets to allow the water rise and low when the user needs it. Also, the water is now deadly water.
- Added satellites, in three flavors: Laser ones. Mirror (to reflect lasers). And Light satellites to bring light to the darkest places in space.
- Added the logic to allow these elements to be programmed and change its behavior during the gameplay using the existing buttons.
- Added a fifth type of switch: Infinite loop switch, used also to switch on/off on regular intervals any number of elements or change their behavior.
- The star goal has been changed for space crystal and wormholes linked to them. This allow us to create multi-puzzle levels, just adding more wormholes and crystals and makes the puzzles and the decision making more interesting
- Added a space map, which allow us to select our next destination (there can be more than one planet available at a time)
Also, we have improved the graphics, start adding sound, and create some beautiful levels to submit the game to Steam GreenLight. There is still a long way to the end, but we think we are ready to show the game. By the way, you can vote the game here
These are the last screenshots of the game, and one of the videos used on the submission. We hope you to enjoy them.
