The Imperial Military

The Empire has the most professional, disciplined and dedicated military in the galaxy. All recruits are zealous and dogmatic, convinced the ideals of the Empire are worth upholding to prevent anarchy in the galaxy and they will proudly die for the Emperor to protect the New Order.

For centuries the Imperial Military has been the most feared military force in the known galaxy. The primary force responsible for carrying out military operations throughout the galaxy as well as maintaining order on Imperial member worlds, governorships, colonies, and protectorates, the Imperial Military differed and arguably surpassed the militaries of most other galactic nations in that the Imperial Military was not only a physical superpower, but a psychological one as well. Many factions of the Imperial Military, most famously the independent Imperial military force known as the Stormtrooper Corps, were known to strike fear and terror into sentients and civilizations across the entire galaxy, extending from enemy to even allied worlds. Fear was as much a weapon used by the Empire as power, if not more so.

Arakyd probe droids were originally designed for use by the Galactic Empire. Arakyd modified their probots with military-level sensors and equipment, and marketed them as Copperhead probe droids. Copperhead probots in service with the Empire were upgraded under the direct supervision of Imperial High Command and the affiliated branches, and featured a blaster cannon, a self-destruct mechanism and deflector shields.

Many thousands of the Imperial Copperhead probe droids were manufactured on Mechis III and later on Fondor. The Imperial Intelligence's Analysis Bureau also used them as remote surveillance droids posted largely in the Outer Rim Territories. In conflict zones, probots often worked alongside the Imperial Navy to monitor traffic and provide early warnings of attack. They could also be programmed to engage pursuit mode, whereupon the Copperhead would track an enemy vessel and report back on its location and destination. The probes are equipped with a dual function hyperdrive and sublight ring that could be detached in orbit above a planet, then reattached at the completion of a mission, allowing the probe to return to its initial launch point or travel onward to other locations. Upon destruction they will emit an encrypted databurst from a black box.

Named after the primary man at arms of the Original Galactic Empire from over a century ago. These Stormtroopers are absolutely and fanatically loyal to the Empire, its ideals and the Emperor himself of course. They obey commands without hesitation and are excellent soldiers, drilled to perfection and highly disciplined making them nearly unbreakable.

Stormtroopers are the elite soldiers of the Galactic Empire. Like Star Destroyers and TIE fighters, stormtroopers served as ever present reminders of the absolute power of Emperor Palpatine. These faceless enforcers of the New Order were considered an extension of the Emperor's will, and thus they often used efficient yet usually unreasonable tactics as a way to keep thousands of star systems throughout the galaxy in line. At the height of the Empire, stormtroopers had effectively become symbols of major authority. With few exceptions, they were distinguished from all other military units by their signature white armor.

Purge Stormtroopers, also known as Incinerator Troopers or Flametroopers, were an elite specialized variant of Stormtrooper distinguished by their unique helmet visor, heat-resistant armour and fuel tank. Equipped with glare reducing helmets, exceptionally heat-resistant armor and Ember flamethrowers designed to root out entrenched enemy positions and engulf any resistance. Flametroopers were feared for their ability to turn any battlefield into a blazing inferno.

Incinerator stormtroopers were sent on missions where an example needed to be made. They would march into settlements and burn them to the ground, leaving nothing standing. They did not hesitate to even ignite any bystanders that got in their reign of destruction. Although they usually relied on Ember flamethrowers to destroy their targets, it was not unusual for them to destroy their targets solely with thermobaric canisters and mortar launchers making them an effective supporting unit.

An elite soldier of the Empire, the Special Commando Assault Recon Stormtroopers, SCAR Stormtroopers or just Imperial Commandos, were assigned to carry out covert operations too delicate for regular Stormtroopers. They were trained with an emphasis on stealth as well as covert operations over brute force. SCAR Stormtroopers were able to perform covert assaults, precision strikes, and sabotage operations against enemy forces. They were typically deployed into squads that consisted between three to six commandos. However, in certain missions that were considered suicide, squads consisted only of one or two individuals. They were normally deployed on operations against enemy leaders ranging from capture missions as well as destroying any important facilities used by their foes. They were even known to take part in assassination missions.

The SCAR Stormtroopers were trained in live-fire exercises, giving them a sense of the reality of combat long before the regular Stormtroopers. Anti-terrorist training was conducted in a building nicknamed the Killing House. Though many commandos failed to survive their exercises, the rest learned rapidly, allowing them to become better soldiers. The commandos also experienced near-death torture to train them in resisting interrogation, and many commandos were left mentally scarred from the experience.

Their armour was enhanced with a coating of an advanced polymer called reflec, which deflected light and sensor energy. This made the wearers virtually invisible to all but the most determined of scans. To support their mission profile, their commando armour included a small generator that created a sound-dampening field and had numerous concealed weapons. The commandos were also trained to fly commando-exclusive variant starfighters, generally operating from a carrier. These carriers would be under their direct command and control. Finally, in certain special forces operations, they made use of drop pods for orbital insertion.

The Emperor's Royal Guard, sometimes referred to as the Imperial Royal Guard or Imperial Guard, was an elite unit of the Galactic Empire's armed forces tasked with the protection of the Emperor and whomever else was deemed in need of their protection. The exact number of Royal Guardsmen serving the Emperor was unknown, with speculations ranging from less than fifty to tens of thousands, although their numbers were estimated to be at least four hundred at any one point. Like the Stormtroopers of the Stormtrooper Corps, the Royal Guards formed a military unit independent of the Imperial Military and answered directly to the Emperor.

The Royal Guard are based out of a classified Imperial Royal Guard Academy. Candidates for tutelage under the Academy, picked from various units in the Imperial Military, underwent rigorous training programs designed to build a sense of extreme loyalty to the Emperor even beyond the norm of units like the Stormtroopers. Students are often being forced to kill each other in live combat. Guardsmen were trained in various forms of martial arts, including Echani. Guardsmen were commonly equipped with vibroswords and force pikes, in addition to heavy blaster pistols for ranged combat and beneath their crimson red robes they wear a powerful set of non-restrictive heavy armour which bore resemblance to Mandalorian armour. The armour is impregnated with conductive wirepaths which, once powered, create an intense local magnetic field. Once this energy-intensive field activates, the powered plates can deflect blaster fire. Even a lightsaber will glance off, though a directed thrust will penetrate the shell. The mag-coils are costly, the plates heavy, and mag-field exposure is ultimately painful to the wearer.

The Royal Guard were also excellent starfighter pilots, flying modified TIE fighters with a similar paintjob to their armour. These crimson starfighters would be deployed from a modified shuttle bearing the Imperial crest.

This is, in fact, its primary source of power and numerous variations of the Scythe exist. The design is heavily inspired by the legendary All-Terrain Armoured Transport and the Ubrikkian Industries' HAVr A9 Floating Fortress.

The standard combat systems the the Scythe is equipped with consists of two side-mounted twin-barrel heavy laser cannons and two twin-barrel repeating blasters for anti-infantry duty, placed strategically on the repulsortank chassis. There are numerous other components that can be attached to the Scythe, most common among these are the twin-barrel medium laser cannon, three missile pods and a single-barrel turbolaser cannon. Typically, the twin-barrel medium laser cannons are configured for the suppression of heavy infantry and light infantry and the elimination of aerial targets. When armed in the triple missile pod configuration, the Scythe can repel act as a missile-based artillery emplacement that is effective against both ground and air targets with a total of forty-five missiles homing or guided concussion missiles. In its final configuration with a single large turbolaser turret, the Scythe becomes a devastating long-range artillery platform.

The repulsortank has a capacity of 1 ton of cargo, carries supplies for one week of operation, and has room for up to ten passengers. The HAVr A10 Scythe is best used to support heavy assaults. The All Terrain Scout Transport/advanced, or AT-ST/a, is a complete redesign of the original AT-ST. It is almost twice as large, more heavily armed and armoured than its predecessors and most importantly, many of its stability issues have been resolved. The AT-ST/a is a medium walker designed by Kuat Drive Yards for the Imperial military and stands at fifteen metres in height with a maximum speed of eighty kilometres an hour. It is designed to function as a reasonably fast heavy cavalry and mechanized infantry walker capable of delivering overwhelming firepower, mobile infantry and reconnaissance for direct engagements, suppression and local battlefield control.

Offensive-wise the All Terrain Scout Transport/advanced is equipped with two heavy laser cannons and two medium laser cannons both mounted on the side of the head, they are somewhat capable of angling themselves but are otherwise front-fixed. Additionally the walker has two missile pods that carry thirty homing concussion missiles in total. Finally, it armed with a small twin-barrel chin-mounted anti-infantry repeating blaster

The AT-ST/a can transport up to twelve Stormtroopers, their weapons, and their gear along with 500 kilograms of cargo and enough supplies for one week of operation for its five-man crew. Large sliding durasteel hatches on the sides of the vehicle allow passengers to use the walker as a mobile watchtower and even mount light repeaters to the railings inside. The walker is incapable of independently turning its head from the rest of the body as the original AS-ST could, creating a glaring weakness. This weakness is only partially compensated by two chaff launchers that can be deployed to mislead guided projectiles.

The original All Terrain Shock Enforcer was always an Imperial design but stolen by treacherous agents following the end of the Imperial Civil War. It languished in the hands of foreign nations until it eventually abandoned in favour of more appropriate vehicles, vehicles that were deemed less "oppressive". The recovered designs were sent to Kuat Drive Yards for upgrading. As a result, the All Terrain Shock Enforcer/advanced, or AT-SE/a, shares some resemblance to its original counterpart but is larger, more heavily armed and armoured than its precursor. The walker stands at roughly seventeen metres in height and it has a maximum speed of seventy kilometres an hour. It is made to function as a heavy cavalry and mechanized infantry walker capable of delivering overwhelming firepower, mobile infantry and artillery for heavy battle and prolonged sieges.

The armament of the All Terrain Shock Enforcer/advanced is nothing to scoff at, it comes with two heavy laser cannons and two light laser cannons mounted on the cockpit, the heavy laser cannons are mounted on the chin and front-fixed, with limited angling capabilities while the light laser cannons are side-mounted with a wider range of orientation. The light lasers are capable of combating both light vehicles and infantry targets. Additionally, the walker is armed with two small twin-barrel rear-mounted anti-infantry repeating blasters. The most powerful and most important weapon equipped on the All Terrain Shock Enforcer/advanced is the heavy mass driver, a devastating artillery piece mounted on top of the walker and capable of full and independent rotation allowing it to fire regardless of the walker's orientation.

Aside its weapons the AT-SE/a is a versatile support walker; it can transport up to twelve passengers including their equipment along with one-and-a-half tons of cargo. The walker has enough supplies for two week of operation for its five-man crew. Large sliding durasteel hatches on the sides of the vehicle allow passengers to defend the walker from external threat, they can and even mount light repeaters to the railings inside.

This behemoth war machine is the All Terrain Armoured Transport/advanced, or AT-AT/a. It resembled ancient beasts of war, or even giant legendary beasts from the dark side of the Force. Standing at an impossible fifty-six metres tall, the hexapod walker was designed for the dual purpose of crushing and demoralizing enemy forces, and also serving as a transport for Imperial soldiers and small vehicles, the AT-AT/a is among the most awesome vehicles in the Imperial arsenal. Its intimidating and powerful presence often earned it the distinction of being the first vehicle to enter a combat zone. While bearing the name of the original AT-AT, the advanced model is a complete redesign of the original. It is far larger and absolutely bristling with weapons and defences. The AT-AT/a is a heavy walker designed by Kuat Drive Yards for the Imperial military that can function as a mobile command centre, heavy cavalry and mechanized infantry walker with enough weapons and flexibility to assert dominance over the battlefield. An important addition to the advanced model is its ability to project a deflector shield around itself and nearby troops.

The All Terrain Armoured Transport/advanced is equipped with three heavy mass drivers artillery pieces one of which is a double-barrel, three quad-barrel heavy laser canons strategically placed on under the cockpit and the rear, three medium laser cannons of which one is a quad-barrel and chin-mounted and two of which are twin-barrel and placed towards the rear and on the side. Further, the AT-AT/a has four light laser cannons with five-barrel built-into the sides of the chassis and finally four twin-barrel blaster repeaters mounted near the underbelly of the walker. Most interestingly are the two deflector shield generators on the cockpit, near the viewing pane.

Traditionally, the older models had vulnerable joints but the AT-AT/a has reinforced armour. In addition, when not in motion the two additional legs attached to the middle section can extend outward and to the sides for increased stability, rendering cable attacks ineffective. All six legs can fold up close to the main body for transport. The walker can ferry eighty-four Stormtroopers across the battlefield along with 2.2 tons of cargo and has enough supplies for one month of operation for its 21-man crew. Part of the crew is a single surgeon droid. The All Terrain Armoured Transport/advanced is also able to deploy a protective shield around itself and soldiers near it.
