I must say, if I were you, I would first complete the half-life one version. Then you just basically apply the Source engine to it and redo a few textures. This would make you job a bit easier and you can also use the HL 1 version as a test to see how popular it will be.
I do have some skill with mapping, I could also help with some sounds and voice acting if needed.
