It's time for an update. I'd like to first go in-depth with information on our first release, which will be a public demo.

The first demo release will be somewhat small, but due to time limitations and the current mandatory implementation of Steam Technology into Half-Life and other Valve products, we would much rather release something small soon, then something large and never. Unfortunately, the majority of the Shores of Victory staff will no longer be able to continue developing this game after Steam is implemented, for various reasons. So without furthur hesitation, I would like to introduce the official documentation of Shores of Victory Demo 1.

Teams: Imperial Japanese Army, U.S. Marine Corps
Classes: Rifleman, Machine Gunner
Weapons: Japanese Type 99 Rifle, Japanese Type 96 Machine Gun, U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, U.S. BAR Machine Gun, Grenades
Game Modes: Capture the Area

The map cycle has been trimmed down from 10 maps, to 5. Future patches and upgrades will include the remaining maps, new weapons, new classes, and new features. Well, here's a quick preview of the maps included in Demo 1:

As most of you are probably already wondering, when will Demo 1 be released? The staff is aiming for a deadline of October 1st at the latest.

We hope that you support our decision to release a demo rather than the full product. If you have any comments, questions, concerns, or ideas, feel free to contact any staff member, visit our forums, or talk to us on our official IRC channel at #shoresofvictory on GamesNet.

And finally, we would like to thank all of the dedicated people who have brought us this far.

I've been waiting to play this game for so long. Thank you for releasing a demo.
