Stargate : The Relief is a french mod developed for both the BF2 and BF2142 engines. We do not promote our mod a lot, so maybe you don't know it, but we have been working on it since BF2 was released so i'm certain you will enjoy it. I don't know, but i can't play it.
I have BF2 with patch 1.41 + this mode, but if I run Single Player and Start Server, so I is "freeze". Please help and sorry for my bad english. :)
The same thing happens to me, latest patch and all that. When I go into a game, local server or singleplayer, I get to see my desktop again...
There is some trouble with sinbgle player for now, but multiplayer work well ;)
Wait for the patch, play online for now :)
Damn... I lent my disk to a mate and only got it back recently... sans password as per his style of organisation :(
I don't think the password I *ahem* found will let me play online...

MOD REVIEW:
intro:
This is the first time that I am reviewing a mod here, but i will break it down into 3 typical catagories
Graphics:
Quite good, everything looks like the show, not mush to say, i play on max settings, it's good. expect less on lesser systems
Audio:
USE MEDIUM SETTINGS!!!
sounds great, excpet for the occasional (usually initial spawn screen) repeating staff firing sound. VO's sound not-so-good. turn on: 'English voices only' to replace the weird VO with SAS VO (amusing)(if you have SF, don't know otherwise)
Gameplay:
The meat to this review-wich, except there is no bun underneath
Fairly well balanced, I shall adress the two sides seperately
Taur'ri(eath people):
Play quite similiar to typical BF2, no defib for medics though, nice gun models, etc. I had best sucess with the SAW, using the prone-tactics of your normal BF2. Nades are more sparadic, support has none, remember that, you are NOT a mortar in this mod. the heavy infantry(spas-12)'s rocket launcher is near useless, i have yet to kill/see a kill with it.
Gou'ald (snakeheads/aliens):
These are what makes the mod unique. this faction is well done, the have varied classes indictive to the show, are are well balanced. be careful when you use the 'spy' class, as they look idnetical to Taur'ri medics w/ their mp-5 lookalike training guns from that one episode. and with delayed tag appearence for friendlies, theese people can be tricky, but their knife gives them away. staf weapons work well but the rapid staff (slot 4) seem weird, i would rather have the normal staff overheat, but fire faster, making easy suppression less easy. the Zat's seem to be a 1-hit BEAST in less than 30m. Deathglider's cannon is'nt as powerful as it looks, still kills if you score direct hits.
Maps: generally good, I like the recycling of chinese art assets for the one temperate valey map, but the village spawnpoint os fouled-up IE: peiople spawn inside a building, can shoot out of it.

Just some feedback guys:
Awesome mod, i got a few hours in last night. The maps are great, and the new character models look great too. I heard a lot of complaints about the spy kit, it caused a lot of teamkilling. I think the staff weapon could be a little more inaccurate, and the human could do with a long range weapon. A single hummwv would make a great difference. Maybe on your server update you could do somthing about the weapon accurasy, as right now the rounds seem quite chaotic.
there seems to be little to no splash damage, making rockets and heavy staff weapons less reliable.

We heard a lot about that too, we will release a patch very soon with many upgrade for tauri weapons, easier spy detection ect... ;)
this mod is great,had to think how to get it to work becouse my computer is an idiot, anyway i like this mod but i was thinking mod like this would be great if insted of gould there would be wraith, but those are only my thoughts TNX for the mod
yea i want wraith to but you don't have to delete the goa'uld for it,
it would be awsome if the wraith could feed on stunned tau'ri boddies.

hey guys i need some help
i downloaded battlefield2 iso via bitlord
i mounted it and installed then i installed the mod but when i click on the mod icon (SGLR) the screen turns black like the game is loading and the closes
the regular battlefield 2 works so i dont know what the problem is any help is appriciated

umm guys i got the mod to work but when i press single player it says creating server and then it gets stuck
also how do i play online?
when i try connecting to a server it says your cd key is not valid how can i overide it

I join the server, the map loads and everything, but when its done, when you're suposed to click on "join game" = desktop and BF closes.

Fantastic. As mentioned elsewhere, I was playing BF2 less and less when this was finally released, so never got around to installing it back then. A renewed nterest in the game has led me here and I can;t wait to check it out. I hope I don't have the issues with crashing mentioned above.
