Greetings! Today I will covering the stats and availability of the Republic of Novgorod roster in Roar of Conquest, overhaul mod of Medieval II. This article should help those who are curious to have a better understanding of how Novgorod's roster will perform in battle and when certain units will become available in the campaign.
Note: The stats you see here have been updated for Roar of Conquest: The Late Middle Ages VII. Now onto the details!
Republic of Novgorod
Much like their neighbors of Kiev, Novgorod has a balanced roster in every regard. Using combined arms tactics utilizing aspects from their entire roster will be the best recipe for achieving victory in battle. in addition, Novgorod benefits from having some late-game professional troops that their Kiev neighbors do not. For reference, the unit sizes I will be listing here are when the game is put on 'ultra unit size', Secondary Melee Attack represents the secondary weapon cavalry units use after completing a charge, and the acronym AP stands for armor-piercing. Let Novgorod be the shining beacon to unite the Slavic people and forge an empire; on to war!
1) General's Bodyguard

The bodyguard unit for your characters and generals in the early campaign. A study unit, but not invincible; be careful with them in battle.
2) Woodsmen

While not professional soldiers, these men are a useful early-game unit for dealing with armored enemies.
3) Spear Militia

Slightly more useful than peasant infantry with their spears, Spear Militia are good for padding out armies or maintaining public order in settlements.
4) Slavic Spearmen

A sturdy spear unit, good for holding the line while the rest of you army does the killing.
5) Levy Archers

6) Pechenegs

While not being the strongest of horse archers, these men are cheap and are still capable of whittling down their enemies from range.
7) Junior Druzhina

These men serve as a good harassing unit, able to torment the enemy from range or charge into enemy light infantry or archers at a whim.
8) Senior Rus Militia
