Greetings! Today I will covering the stats and availability of the Cuman Khanate roster in Roar of Conquest, overhaul mod of Medieval II. This article should help those who are curious to have a better understanding of how the Cuman's roster will perform in battle and when certain units will become available in the campaign.
Note: As of Roar of Conquest: The Late Middle Ages VII, the Cuman Khanate has been DELETED
The Cuman Khanate
The Cumans are a faction that is heavily focused on it's archers and cavalry. The Cuman's horse archers are strong enough to go toe-to-toe any other faction's horse archers, even the Mongols, and can be well-supported by sturdy battalions of Kipchak warriors. Use them wisely, and victory will be yours. For reference, the unit sizes I will be listing here are when the game is put on 'ultra unit size', Secondary Melee Attack represents the secondary weapon cavalry units use after completing a charge, and the acronym AP stands for armor-piercing. For domination of the Steppes, on to war!
1) Cuman's Bodyguard

The bodyguard unit for your characters and generals for the campaign. A study unit, but not invincible; be careful with them in battle.
2) Spear Militia
- Unit Size: 150

- Defense: 8 (Armor 0, Defense Skill 1, Shield 7)
- Attributes: Free upkeep
- Availability: Campaign start
- Building Requirement: Mustering Hall, (Motte and Baily)
Slightly more useful than peasant infantry with their spears, Spear Militia are good for padding out armies or maintaining public order in settlements.
3) Kasogi
- Unit Size: 150

- Defense: 10 (Armor 3, Defense Skill 4, Shield 3)

A cheap but useful infantry, these men can use their axes to surprising effect for an early-tier militia.
4) Dismounted Cuman Militia

These men are decent warriors at range, but will perform poorly if thrown into melee combat.
5) Cuman Horse Militia

A sturdier version of the Pechenegs, though slightly less effective at range.
6) Kasogi Senior Militia

These men serve as sturdy spearmen, holding the line against enemy attacks and defending settlements on your borders.
7) Tartar Foot Lancers

These men serve as sturdy medium spearmen and provide a good infantry line to protect the Cuman's missile infantry.
8) Levy Archers

While not being the strongest of horse archers, these men are cheap and are still capable of whittling down their enemies from range.
10) Cuman Heavy Spearmen

These men present a sturdy defensive line against the Khanate's enemies, able to hold their own against both infantry and cavalry.
11) Steppe Alans

While these warriors do not have the strongest defense, they are good archers, and can cause damage in melee with theirs swords if need be.
12) Tartar Lancers
