Eh, well, if we released it three months back, you prolly wouldn't get the Osprey, new Senti, Blackhawk, and a bunch of other units. So perhaps it was worth the wait. =w=

I quite pleased that the AI is using the new stuff, I also like the flame thrower upgrade for the Han :).

Well, while it's cool that they're using new stuff, it's not cool that I almost got owned by Medium AI on quite a few occasions because some stupid Helo flanked my base. =w=

Although Han's flamethrower is kick-*** regarless if you're using it or if you're getting BBQ'd by it. =D

Saying it like that was obviously not the best choice, however as you know, I am happy as all others too you released it. Btw, you could give an update the next time with the tech cards in work and call it 'instructions for commanders' or something ^^

Wait, I thought that 1.5 was supposed to add the GLA and the ECA. It doesn't. I'm seriously disappointed.

Those 2 factions would be added before version 2.0. Probably in the next release. Developers had been specific about this. You should visit the ROTR forums to get the most up to date info regarding the mod.

No, we've always said that we'll add ECA and GLa 'after the 1.5 release'. Apparently a lot of people's hopes blinded themselves, and they read the statement wrong.

Sorry to disappoint, but that's just the way it is. :\

is this version going to be on Crosus because im still unable to get it to work if i install it with your installer?

I doubt they'll be a Crosus version. In all seriousness though, if you've got a normal copy of ZH v1.04 and you install it to the right directory (most of the time simply the default directory), it should work on XP, Vista, and Win 7.

If you've got TFD, remember to tell the installer to install in the right directory. If you don't have a clean copy, do a clean install. (uninstall everything on and including ZH, DELETE the ZH folder, install ZH and patch to 1.04). If you do a clean install, it almost always works.

So how precisely are you supposed to defend yourself against the Hard USA A.I early game helicopter spam when THE CHINESE GATLING IS A RIDICULOUSLY SLOWLY FIRING PIECE OF **** THAT GETS GUNNED DOWN BY FEW BLACKHAWKS!?

I actually don't know; I generally don't survive long against Hard AI 1v1s. I try to build a lot of cheap missile Inf and any cheap AA vehicles early when facing Hard US, as well as trying to build some basic defenses here and there.

I also try to build a second base somewhere else if I survive long enough, but that doesn't happen often. =w=

Ja, if anyone can beat Hard AIs 1v1, well then, holy **** you are good! o_0

Thank you!!! Very good mode.

btw han flamethrowers seem kinda too strong. Buildings disappear after few seconds...

That's the advantage of flame weapons, they are strong against buildings. You wouldn't have noticed this because the only other flame unit is the Dragon tank, which has crappy armor.

You have to remember that the Flamethrowers get shorter range, less effectiveness than armor and costs a pretty penny.

If you are fighting hard US, its best to defend your base until the attacks are getting smaller and smaller(likely because of their resources running out, could be harder and more fun if this didn't happen). Finding ways to destroy their airfields are very helpful coz those nighthawks prove to be quite a nuisance if not dealt with(I lost a defence line of almost 15 tesla coils and 10 kashtans+tons of men and tanks...)
Ow btw great mod, cant wait for the ECA units to join in the party :D

Are you running Vista or Windows 7?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
nidmeister
nidmeister - - 426 comments

Some Vista and Windows 7 users are having trouble running the mod.
Windows will open the command line interface (black window), but will immediately close it again.

This is resolved by copying a fresh Vanilla ZH folder (C:/Program Files/EA Games/C&CZH) into a new folder, say "C:/Games" for example. Install RotR to that folder.

TFD works the same, except you will have to copy your TFD directory.

When doing this, please make sure it is a clean copy that you duplicate, with no mods installed. And when installing multiple mods at the same time with this method (It can be done), then you should always keep a backup version of the clean folder safe, for you to copy when installing other mods that don't run by launchers.
This will take up a lot of space, but is a good safety measure to avoid having to re-install.

Ugh it doesnt like me, I can't get the mod to run, i have TFD and i run 64 Vista. During isntallation it says something about writing over some write protected files. When i over write andi run RoTR it just goes to the banner then crashes and gives me a critical error. Can someoen help me?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

OK, two things. Make sure you're installing it to the right location in the TDF folders. If that wasn't your issue, I suggest you uninstall ZH, DELETE the folder, and then reinstall ZH, and the install RotR 1.5. That should fix most problems.

i did all that uninstall/reinstall copy/paste and everything else that has been suggested and it simply does not work. i run the installer as administrator and the game itself the same. i even tried compatiblity mode and it still does not work. for me the only thing that has made it work is Crosus that is why i keep saying i hope you put this version and future versions on Crosus as was done with previous versions. it cant really be too much to ask that you keep doing what you have already been doing if you catch my drift.

Well, I don't think we'd include the GLA and ECA in a patch; two brand new factions should warrent a new release. That being said, 1.5 has it's fair share of bugs, which should be fixed with a small patch down the line. This quick fix patch will likely bring little new content, so the next PATCH (if we have one), won't have ECA or GLA.

The next RELEASE is when we plan to introduce ECA and GLA.

I can't give any guarentees, and it's not going to be in the near future.

Why don't you install it the normal way? It's got an installer, uninstaller, and it's a non-destructive mod, so it shouldn't cause any problems.
