Resistance Force is close combat multiplayer team action FPS with focus on realism. This game is in development for over two years and we're glad to finally present you a fully playable albeit limited version of this game. No information about this game was published until this point because we wanted to present you something you can already enjoy and not wait years to finish and then be possibly disappointed.

It's also a great milestone for development because fully playable game means a lot. It means it can be incrementally enhanced and these individual enhancements can be delivered to players in short time.

Yep, these guys on the screens really like to lean^^
Nevertheless, nice start for a custom built game. I think its goood that you concentrate on core aspects of the game to test the netcode and engine. Guns, more maps and gamemodes should be second priority.

Could become a mix between CS and CoD. Watched :)

Especially funny that the game is supposed to be realistic but they lean like hell. Tell a real CT/Soldier/Policemen to lean like that and he shows you the **** finger :D . Nice start but if you want "realistic combat" get rid of leaning, seriously.

But real people CAN lean around a corner D:

Shooting accurately like that is another story... Especially if you're able to lean and fire heavy weapons at the same time...

Why always spec ops versus terrorists? And why are they always blowing **** up? Real terrorists steal gold from fort knox and fight bruce willis.

I ran it and I really like it, I'm not sure how the online play works though? When I click play online I don't get a server selection or the choice to join or host a server? What exactly is happening? I'd like to play online with a few people or at one of my LAN Parties coming up.

Currently server browser and master server (that can track multiple servers) are not implemented. I had to cutoff many not yet needed features to be able to release the public alpha on time, I'll add these things in some future update. So currently it connects to just one fixed server.

In the meantime you can use "-server" and "-port" parameters for starting dedicated server and "-host IP:PORT" parameter on client to connect to such server. But it still needs internet access for the auto-updater.

I couldn't find any way to play with other people or bots (if there is any). Although I messed with the engine test and this game looks neat, I just want to actually play it...

Try come to chat (there is webchat on the game homepage) for awhile or try waiting on server until someone other connects.

Inspiration from True Combat: Elite?

Yes :) We've played TCE in a clan for two years, but sadly the development just stopped few years ago. Me and my friends never found any similar game (commercial or not) that got the same good feeling and fun. That's the main motivation behind this game.

Can we expect bigger maps when it's done? I find this interesting.

Wonder how you can have only a pistol. I mean an SMG is literally a mesh away. Are there bots in this by the way? It might be an interesting cops vs. robbers shootout if so.

It was actually planned for first public alpha, but I had to cut off many features to be able to finish it and release on time. I'll do them in future updates. Bots are not planned.

This is only estimate. I really don't know what frequency is minimum to be playable :) Also with the introduction of Intel Core 2 processors there is big shift of actual performance vs frequency. If you have video card that is supported, try and you'll see yourself.
