The award winning Project Reality and Black Sand Studio teams are proud to announce the official release of Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam!
As announced last Sunday, we have gotten to the stage where we are ready to release the first version of Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam. While this release is still in beta form, we feel it is the right time to show the public the progress we have been making, and help serve as a platform for testing content in the public environment before it's inclusion in our next version, v1.0.
This release is in the form of a single installer, and is a completely optional addon. However, due to many servers running the addon, we strongly recommend that everyone download and install it to avoid problems with servers running a mixed map rotation. Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam Beta Features
While still in beta, the addon contains some impressive content. Of course, more content will come in the future, but for now, the following is including in this beta:
- 3 Factions, US Army, US Marine Corps and North Vietnamese Army
- 4 Maps, Battle of Ia Drang, Dien Duong, Barracuda and Tad Sae
- 20 new vehicles, including the A1H Plane, UH-1C Gunship and PBR Patrol Boat
- 14 new weapons, including the M20 Super-Bazooka, fully-automatic M14 and M79 grenade launcher
- Complex tunnel systems
- Fully functioning airplane dropped napalm
- And many more features!
Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam Beta Server Files
If you currently host a Project Reality game server, you would have received the server files for Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam via the Server Admin Control Panel in the last few hours. If you are interested in hosting a new server, please follow the link below to apply for a server license.
In conclusion, we hope that everyone enjoys Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam. Even though it is still in beta, we are confident that everyone can look past the slight amount of bugs that currently exist, and have an enjoyable time while fighting in the new environments. Instead of "North Vietnamese Army", it would be more historical to put in "Vietminh" or "Vietcong".

LOL. There's a difference between the VC and the NVA. VC were militia guerilla fighters and the NVA were regular soldiers of the peoples republic of Vietnam.
I hope I can hear actual clips of Good Morning Vietnam, that was a good movie and that would be sweet to listen to in a chopper :D
Each chopper has tracks 'weapons' for the pilot which play music. Also the main bases for the US have loudspeakers with radio broadcasts on them :)

The Project Reality: BF2 Vietnam forums linked above seem to have registration issue via the captcha spam test. I tried several times. Using shown caps or not as well as space or not. It continues to reject saying improper entry in both that and abbreviation test box below it. I read the ? info popup. Nowhere is it explained in detail re space or not, caps or not, or especially what the confusing 2nd box below it that only says abbreviation. It starts with cap B. But wth should it be ? 2 caps of 1st letters of 2 above words or what ? lol geez. :-) :-)
I'm huge fan of BFV still do to the many adjustables of bot numbers, smarts, death ticket and flag time penalties. Plus the lush dense foliage and hilliness with plenty of holes and logs and rocks to duck behind. As well as the hair raising good for laughs speeding in Jeeps on winding hilly roads and narrow bridges lol. Plus the music. "The bird" lol. Ba ba ba ba ba ba. lol.
Only thing missed in BFV is Commander map mode to give squad orders, help with UAV, Arty, supplies.
Do I need to find download setup mod Project Reality before Vietnam mod ??
