becuse there is rippoff and then there is clone. not saying it is a bad game or anything but heroes of might and magic isn't either.
Even if it seems to be the graphics, they are not, they all are selfmade :) so there is no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to!

No because , Heroes of Might and Magic didn't copyright the gameplay mechanics and not only that but heroes of might and magic RIPPED OFF Kings Bounty the OLD one . How stupid you sound , it's like people should ask permision to ID software ( creators of doom , wolf3d and 3d shooters ) for using the same weapon display on screen .
But the old Kings Bounty is by the same programmer, so why he should ask himself for permission? I guess he told himself yes ..

How the flying **** did this get submitted to the appstore when it states Heroes 2 Palm not Palm Heroes 2... wow, I mean Christ QA standards have dropped a heap since I last did an Apple QA. (this isn't as much a criticism to you its more to their dodgy as **** QAs).
Sorry but as far as I'm concerned your logo has to be changed, as what has been said, you could incur some wrath from Ubisoft, since right now it creates the impression that this is a port of Heroes of Might and Magic 2.. when in fact it is not. Your game is not labeled correctly, this "Should" have failed QA outright (as the icon does not match up with the main menu graphic).
Other than that though the game looks great, but yeah seriously I would consider changing that logo or else you're going to have a lot of really angry people demanding refunds.
But yeah, basic QA check is that the names are all consistent, yours isn't. Get that fixed ASAP.
This advice comes from a QA with 4 years of industry experience. I suggest you take it.
I also want to say that your game looks amazing. Sorry if I come across as insulting. I just don't want to see you guys get in trouble. You've got a great game.

Palm Heroes is our name, and it has only been used by us, and no other products. You mean that the word "Palm" is written at the bottom of the logo?
These ... ' people " think that you are copying too much from Heroes of Might and Magic . But they don't realise how stupid they are :
1. Your game only has similar gameplay , that's it , the rest is made by you making it unique .
Gameplay mechanics/ genres aren't copyrighted ; this is what they don't understand .
it has identical gameplay. i wouldn't be able to sell a game called earthquake with identical gameplay and visual style to any of the quake games.
also i'm not mad or anything, as long as they can get away whith it why not.
Actually, I think that yes, you would be able to sell that earthquake game.
From what I understood in other debates, gameplay, even mecanisms, can't be copyrigthed. FPS gives a good example there : it really started with Id software, and now everybody does them. But characters can have copyright. As well as data and code of course.
Also, it seems that the franchise has started more than 2 years ago (there is a review dating from august 2009 in touchmyapps.com about palm heroes), and the company is still there. So it probably is alright.
Actually, it all started back in 2006 when first alpha version for WinMobile was released.

Well, I have watched some videos and pictures about HoMM 2 and 3. And yes I reckon that Palm Heroes really looks too similar to HoMM to be fair.
Indeed, clones and ripoffs are 2 different things...
Yes, Palm should appear at the top not the bottom, your text Heirarchy reads as Hereos 2 Palm because Palm appears After Heroes 2 as opposed to Before. At the moment it reads like Heroes (of might and magic) 2 Palm.. Suggesting its a port of HOMM2.. which is misleading and you can definately see how people could be mislead to thinking that this game is an enhanced version port of HOMM2.
In this case copyright is definately an issue. Game Design is fine, its the branding that's the issue.
I'm aware you've already released this title before with the same logo. I'm really surprised that no one has picked up on it in QA on the appstores because its number 1 on my old checklists (Does the main menu logo match the icon title(P/F/N))
