As many visitors know, we've experienced many problems with our site and hosting over the last year. Many times the servers we've been with in the past have gone down, and we've spent countless days and weeks in search of new ones. The site has gone through a few different visual and internal styles, from static to CGI and now in PHP. Thankfully we have a new host. planetDOOM has kindly given us space, and pandora and I have worked for about a month creating the new site in PHP and getting it working.

Without further ado, I present to you OpTD Site v2.5, retaining the same visual style but with a few minor changes:

- The forums are no longer planned as an internal part of the site; we've got a phpBB forum set up over here
- The journals section has been shifted to the forums
- There is no longer registration on the site, and polls will be held regularly on the forums

The team has been working throughout the site downtime, and we've produced a few more weapon models. The stealthy HK MSG90 sniper rifle, the popular CAR-15 assault rifle and the powerful Remington M870 shotgun are all up on display in the weapon models gallery right here. We are working on new weapon models such as the HK-MP5 and the Beretta 92FS, and another promo video is planned soon, showcasing all the models the team has created so far. We welcome pd.Shadow Rogue, a male voice actor and Pr0digy, a modeller, to Troian Interactive.

In other news, a german gaming magazine called GameStar has written an article about Doom III and modding. OpTD got 2 pictures (page 2, top two pictures) and a great writeup. I've posted a rough translation up on the forums for the non-german speaking community.

We hope you enjoy the current site and content. This post will mark the start of reliable hosting for OpTD, so you can rest assured that planetDOOM will be hosting this site with as little problems as possible.

From all the team at Troian Interactive, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous New Year!
