Well as some of you found out i took over this mod about 6 or 7 months ago. Since then i did a lot of codding, however the lack of textures and missing models made my job almost impossible. I do not have the time to learn modelling or texturing as my life atm has reach that time when job and family has priority. Zeke and Kris as my only to remaining active members are also busy with their RL so, basicly EC is on hold. How long, well if we don't find someone to help, probably forever. Trust me it hurts me more than anyone else. I have put years of work and dreams into this mod, however i cannot do shit on my own. If there is anyone interested in helping then this will go on. If not, then well, i'll put it this way. Just waiting for other to do stuff isn't helping much. This being said, EC is as said, OH HOLD for indefinite time.

Is there a chance, (with the team's permission) that you can release the mod as an unfinished beta?
Or at least release some of the stuff to the community, id hate to see the work not be used.
As much as i'd like that, models and textures are not mine. It would require the permission of the people who did them, and some of them have been absent within the community for years. Plus we are still considering some options.

Yeah it is but we can't just give their stuff away without at least asking them first.
Ok I get it now. Wow tho protocol is kinda strict here compared to other mod-heavy game communities like say Civs (where the rule is if a user has left the community for a long time, you can use their code so long as proper credit is given, especially for successor mods)
yeah guys...of course its a shame to hear this news --- But, for those whingers who dont appreciate that your guys RL comes first,...well, they must have no RL themselves
LIsten guys, it shows respect to your fans for you to even put up this post - keeping fans & followers fully aware of the situation (a lot of mods/modders never post anything - and just keep fans waiting,...to no end result?!)

There are a lot of mods out there that are finished and the modder are just adding patches, maybe you could ask them for some help?
Isn't Shockwave done? Maybe they can help. The guys from Rise of the Reds somehow dug themselves out of a jam maybe there is hope.
Well why didn't we think of that :|. First of all, just like us a lot of this modders have the exact same situation - RL. Second and probably most important, those that still mod, have their own projects to attend to. And some modders are just really proud and stupid. You must understand that the zero hour modding community is really small at this point, and the few real modders in it ( not the ******** that steal **** without even asking ) are very very busy.
Here's how I would approach things. I would release all code and assets saying that anyone can use them to contribute to the project, or for private modding. The cnc community has always been pretty good at policing themselves. That way people can still have fun with the assets, while dealing with the issue of the authors pretty much abandoning their stuff. Any mod that is released can already be torn apart for use in private mods. Lots of people already do this so it shouldn't be a problem. I'd definitely like to use some of those models for my own private mod.
I wouldn't expect too much activity though. The community is small now, and most of the people who used to to modding don't have that free time that being in highschool allowed.
Also, thanks for being upfront. Lots of mod devs have a bad habit of promising everything, and then letting things rot forever.
They must have promission from the molderers of the models to even concider that idea.. i mean u promise that they will use it on private use. but there are many mod sites where they might aswell post stuff these guys made without credits.

There are lots of dead ZH mods. Maybe you can ask for models there. Anyway, what else do you need? You have plenty of great and original models here. I wish you find someone.
