Sittard, The Netherlands, April 1, 2011 – InterWave Studios is proud to announce the final release and closed beta schedule for Nuclear Dawn, their first independent title built on Valve’s Source engine.

Nuclear Dawn is a ground-breaking RTS/FPS hybrid set in a post-apocalyptic near future, where two factions fight for survival and supremacy in the world they destroyed. With a mixture of tactical, squad-based combat for the soldier and unforgiving strategic gameplay for their commanders, Nuclear Dawn is an original game experience developed by indie studio InterWave.

The game that’s been already on sale on Steam three times so far could not let April’s Fool day pass by without an announcement, and the only way to do so properly is to announce our new release schedule, along with some details on how to participate in the upcoming closed beta.

Nuclear Dawn will be released in September 2011. Which date, you ask? When it’s done, we say.

Pre-orders will open sixty days before the release date, and players will be able to purchase the game as early as July 2011. Players who have pre-purchased the game will be automatically invited to the closed beta, and will be able to play Nuclear Dawn as early as this summer.

In conjunction with this press release, we have released a new game teaser, which can be viewed below, as well as new in-game screenshots which can be seen in the gallery.

How much will Nuclear Dawn cost?

The price will not be finalized and announced until closer to the start of pre-orders this summer, but we can assure that it will be the lowest possible price point that we can afford - based on Valve's recommendation, and absolutely _less_ than USD $39.99.

I'd pay at most 30$ for this, though 20$ would be better, this is high quality work.

Could be the 1st, could be the 30th! We can't predict how the summer beta will go until further down the line, but either way we guarantee a September release :)

I say the 11th of that month would be a good date.

I'd prefer the 9th, just because it's my birthday but I'd also like to win the lottery too..
