Welcome to another Firearms: Source news update! It has been a while since our last update due to a lack of new content and cracking down on balancing the mod. The past few months have been filled with map tweaks, weapon tweaks, and bug fixes. We have finally decided to take the burden of news updates off our backs and giving that responsibility to our testers (when they aren't goofing around in the servers). So today we have to show you some screenshots as well as a new video recorded and edited by one of our testers, Lusty Muffins. In the video, mainly you will just see him spanking the other testers with the M14 on ps_sand. If you want a nice 'ROFL' you can go ahead and get a glimpse of the b*tching that goes on during a typical day of testing and read the chat messages during the video.
We also have some screenshots that I grabbed from a demo on sd_mine. Behind closed doors, we are also working on wrapping up our feature list for RC1, and deciding what should be kept and what should be moved for RC1.X. We are trying to wrap up the mod in general, but unfortunately means that some features that we were hoping to make it wont be added until a later patch. But if you will recall, as we have posted in earlier news posts, we will continue supporting this mod for years to come. Well, enough blabbering, here are some screenshots!

Have a question... Will there be a iron sight for every weapon, and if yes will they have animations(cause this one doesnt have an animation)?
There wont be aimpoints/scopes for every weapon, a few have aimpoints and a few have scopes.
We do have a 3D scope/aimpoint system w/scoped animations but it wont be in the first release. We need more time to refine it and don't want to hold up the release for something that might be perceived as a fairly cosmetic feature.
Looks awesome, are you planning to implement head bobbing when rushing or maybe even a little when running to get away from the hl2dm feel?
We actually do have that now in our current build (180), this video is from a slightly older one.

Looks awesome, cant wait, there were alot of players, was that 24 or 32? with/without bots.
It's a 32 player server, we have a large dedicated testing/dev team. We do not use bots for testing. Hope that helps :)

weapon bob still looks stupid
The weapon bob can be controlled client side. So you can adjust it to your liking.
Something seems wrong with the weapon animations. Its like in slow motion. The instant iron sight seems off as well.
Those sounds need some work.

BTW, are there really THAT many players/testers ? Or are there bots in the video?
The devs play sometimes and the testing team has about 20-30 people. We generally test with about 20ish on a given test day.

The gameplay looks incredibly smooth and fluid, I wouldnt suspect this was Source if I didn't know otherwise. I have a really high level of expectations for this

Early 2010 most likely. We're just working on balancing gameplay and ironing out a few bugs.
