Three days until The Dark Army: Uprising's release. It's almost there. Today I've got more stuff to show: the playable area map, which was originally supposed to be revealed last August, as well as some explanations about the night/day choice feature. Next Wednesday you'll finally be able to play the modification, at least on Windows. I can't wait for you to give me your impressions about this project which I've been working on for more than two long years. Hardcore fans of RtCW will be pleased!

There are going to be many outstanding improvements made to the original Return to Castle Wolfenstein game ─ in The Dark Army: Uprising ─ such as exclusive missions, remade guns (with camouflage options), better light system (with anamorphic lens flares), neat GFX 2D in-game icons, finest blood effects (with new sprites), detailed high-quality sounds, amazing high-definition textures, better assets (with new menus), new engine (based on id Tech 3) and of course the innovative implementation of an optional weather system, 'night or day' choice.
In my opinion, the day campaign is going to be more hard than the night one. The number of enemies, their equipment and their comportment changes following the choice you make when from the title screen. By night, there will be less troops and they'll prefer silenced weapons. By day, there will be more troops and they'll prefer loud weapons. But there are more factors such as the visibility. I.e. in The Village episode, there's going to be more fog by night, so the enemy's visibility will decrease. The enemy troops will prefer close-range/medium-range silenced weapons by night and will use medium-range/long-range loud weapons by day. My advice would be to beware the snipers hidden by day in The Village episode.

Here it is, finally: the playable -world- area map of The Dark Army's first part, Uprising, which was originally supposed to be revealed last August (but it wasn't the right time). Now that the mod is finally going to release Wednesday, in three days, I think it is time you see it. Note that each of these maps will have multiple floors, so the mod is bigger than that!
