Here is the latest in our new weekly Overgrowth alpha format! David himself took some time to illustrate the traditional changelog in video form.
Don't forget that you can help support us, try out our weekly alphas (such as the one in the video), and chat with other preorderers in the Secret Preorder Forum by preordering Overgrowth.
Be sure to watch it in HD!
The features highlighted in the above video are as follows (among some extra ones thrown in for good measure):
- Progress on steam integration
- All common shaders use shader macros
- Fixed "GUI id 1 not found" error
- Fixed collision with mirrored objects
- Haze properly affects blood and shadow decals
Thanks as always for all the support! See you guys in IRC and the forums.
Also, feel free to support us by preordering Overgrowth!

is that a new level?
how close is this game to being a beta??
As there basically isn't any gameplay at the moment, I'm guessing quite a long time.
They are still working on the technical features of the engine.
EDIT: By gameplay I'm hinting at campaing etc. You are perfectly able to fight other rabbits at the moment.
now is v1.56 end next week will be v1.57 then it will come out about around 43 weeks now...coz i think the full game will be v2... so less than a year if anyting goes well... doesnt matter. dont rush it boys, take your time and create a good game! you are doing great so far...
Sweet update, short, but sweet.
Steam integration, nice!
HEY!
all you big companies!
take a good long look! THIS is progress
awesome update. :)
I liked what I saw there, would be nice to see some more awesome scenes (leveldesign) if you've got that far :)
What an amazing rock models on that shore. Also do you guys use voxel terrain system? Cliffs near shore seem to be very steep and texture isnt stretched at all.
The snow shader is absolutely stunning, great job!
I already preordered a while back but didnt really try it yet, downloaded one alpha and really enjoyed messing with it, but i dont feel like downloading the whole thing every week by myself.
However, as soon as its integrated into steam ill play and give feedback as much as i can. Would the updates only include what has changed or would i have to download the entire game every week?
Yay steam support !
So, up to now you have made 156 progress videos? That will be one amazing session to watch, when the game is final. Almost of an overall tutorial of how to make a great game.
EVERY of these videos makes me want to preorder Overgrowth. Alas, I already have it. Steam integration will make things easier and you find a big market. I like Steam, but the option to play it without it is something I find nowhere else but in Overgrowth. This game has a patent on good ideas!
Will we see Desura support? That would be great :)
Is my imagination or I saw water...? OwO
Great! But there's something wrong :O
Steam chat doesn't show you as green meaning you're not in-game.
That second level looked amazing
