To fit nicely with our multipassenger vehicles for Jurassic Rage (pictures to come!) Al and Kaos_nyrb have programmed multipasseneger vehicles into the Jurassic Rage Internal Alpha.

The whole Valve developer community could benefit from this, so the Jurassic Rage team have decided to make this code fully avaliable to the public to incorporate in their own projects.
It has been posted over at the Valve Collective

Thanks for all your recent support.

This is probably one of them PR tricks, but it's a damn good one. I don't know how hard a multi-passenger vehicle code is to code but I'm sure a lot of people will use this. Well done!

lol we're not after PR(well we are, but thats not the reason for the post), there's simply too much closed code out there, this doesn't benefit us in anyway, its for the community.

To give you an idea of how hard it is, Sven Co-Op are still working on getting theres multi-passeneger :)

Thanks for the comment!

You're better off posting this on developer.valvesoftware.com. It's pretty much superceded VERC now. :)

The bigger issue is the awful vehicle net code. It needs to be tottaly re done.

Thanks, you just made my day. I wish other HL2 mod teams were as generous as you, instead of keeping generic code tweaks as like if they were trade secrets.
Cross-cooperation is what we need!

This is what our coder has to say about the netcode:

Sure, we can just have the players lag like like hell anytime there're more than about 3 people playing in the cars. I'm sure it can be done, and perhaps other mods have fixed their vehicle code, but I personally (and many other modders as well) don't have the time (at least not at this point) to completely rewrite the netcode.

Are you saying its only a little bug :/. If you have really fixed the netcode ie runs well with more than 3 vehicles online at once, then I am sure our coder would love to talk to you.
