It is with deepest regret I have stopped media submission. Now, any images, videos and music cannot be added.
I'd want the videos/music to be kept, but it is impossible to do so with ModDB.
Downloads can still be added however! So, texture packs, mods, worlds etc. can still be uploaded.
However, all is NOT lost! You can still upload your minecraft images and videos! I have created a Minecraft Community group for images and user created content. I shall link to it somewhere below in big letters.
I will explain my actions now.
Over the last month, we've had a good run with community input. The page was unknown, and was out of the way.
Lately, I've got complaints, and they've been growing. Any media added will update all users. So, those following for minecraft updates were swarmed daily by the community. It simply had to stop.
I tried manual administration. That was very impractical. I couldn't keep up with the timezones, and as such, it failed. So, I had to shut down submissions.
But, I couldn't leave you with NO alternative. So, I made a group for images, videos, music and the rest of that sort of stuff! There, you can upload anything. From competitions to images of your houses.
I do apologise if you see this as a wrong move, but I have to try to please everyone, and, I myself see both views. It is a really hard choice to make.

This was the perfect course of action to be taken.
We plan on adding "organized galleries" so you can split off user-added images from the normal gallery. Kinda like how the new review system works. It'll be a few months away however.
the review system is great, but yeah. I look forward to that feature!! ^^

Thank you very much for this. I must admit I was close to stop tracking Minecraft on this site as I didn't want to get spammed with peoples pictures when I thought there would be an update or something. This site is for modding and game development.
Good move, and good to see you made an alternative for those who want to keep seeing community pictures, which I am sure some people love.

I propose that you add 1 or 2 page admins per time zone to watch the media.

All in all probably a good idea, was getting annoying to log on and see i had 32 updates, 26 of which were just user uploaded pics to the minecraft page.
I like this, and good move on creating the "Community" page :)
