Post news RSS MOD Migration...

These are a few details as to what we are doing now, and where we are heading in the next few months.

THE MOD AS IT STANDS

Officially, the MOD itself is not doing too well as a MOD. Between Multi-Player Online instabilities and general errors of Cross-MAP compatibility; the MOD, as it stands, is not going to happen. However, with that said, that is not to say that the MOD will not be converted.

THE CONVERSION

We are discussing the possibility of migrating the MOD into its own game. Whether in full or as a patch, the game itself can not properly sustain 6 Factions in online and the campaign may present some issues later. Therefore, a solution must be found.

The patch will likely be as 1.10 or as 2.0
The patch will also likely be up to 140-160MB in size
This is down to the addition of Video and Music files along with new EVA data and UI settings.

The full conversion will stand as Command and Conquer 5
This has its own issues, as this then means a full rebuild of CNC3 into a new CNC5
This means that the size may be over 7GB maybe even more
The down side is the rebuild, a new CNC#.EXE, which may take some time to rebuild
The up side though, online stability and new settings will be available
These new settings include; NO Super Weapon mode, Normal crates and MCV crates as separate and maybe even a new Online config.

This is all still under discussion, and no confirmations as yet have been made.

We hope you all have a happy new year,
see you next year commander
