It's my great pleasure to unveil the Mod DB Community Server, kindly donated by GameServers.com. We plan to make it one of the best servers around, and indeed the official Mod DB server, which means community members can take it in game to get a more graphical approach to the flames and attacks that go on in the forums. :O
The Server is currently running Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life to get us started. I know it isn't the most community driven mod around, but it's fun and it's a good on to begin with, because lots of people know what to expect. From here, we will branch out and go into having featured mods played on the server. The server is located in California as we thought it would maximize our potential players. Hopefully we will be able to get local servers for other parts of the world down the track.
Remember to visit GameServers.com, who have donated the server in respect of the modding community.
Server IP: 8.3.5.37:27015
Password: moddb
Modification: Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life.
130-150 while no one was there D:
It may be because I was still streaming TFC, but I thought Steam stops that as soon as you join a game...
The server is in California, USA. :P
Excellent. Now we can have those mod games we were talking about on the forums.
Indeed. Here's a link to the thread that brought this on us. Everyone thank Grobi and GameServers.com :D.
Meh, no one is on but I am pinging a decent 80 all the way from New Jersey
im in
play
If it's now TFC you are playing, next up Gmod okay?
Or Pirates, Vikings and Knights 2, whatever suits you.
again, a good initiative!
Very good! But it is a bit of a shame that it isn't an Australian server.
Scott is an Australian isn't he? And there is a very large Australian community here, and that is something I would like to see catered to a little bit more :(
Oh well I will cross my fingers for an Aussie server in the near future :D
what more can I i say then awsome! Hopefully this team fortress classic will end pretty soon seeing as i don't have it.
Perhaps Aus/EU servers are the next logical step here, but I'm so happy this got off the ground at all :D
Very nice work, as someone already said a good initiative indeed :)
The main idea is, whichever mod wins mod of the month is playable on this server.
I think that is a top prospect, since it gives everyone a chance to "roadtest" it.
It's in California? Whooohoooo! Take that you aussie punks!
Or of course, things like your AddonDB Mapping competition ;)
Thats cool, For a next community driven mod they should make a server for Plan of Attack.
Damn, me is jealous of Joe :P I can't wait until we get some other mods on. How about some Source and UT2K4 mods.
What about good ol' Half-Life DM?
HL2:CTF FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd would like to see the server dedicated to mods of games, not the retail ones. Stuff like TFC would be acceptable though.
Oh, and thanks Gamerservers.com
I enjoy the idea, but I think this might be a bit overly ambitious.
installing tfc now
Awesome!
I hope to see an HL2:DM server soon. :)
yeah yall were right no one plays on it, people need to get on to play anyone wanna play in about 20 minutes, if no one responds i won't get on
:o =D
I'll play in about 20 mins.
DANGIT DALE frosty wants to play
Come on people Get on !!!!!! I'm Creamin red (only one in server) HELP THEM OUT!
Reinstalling TFC now. Seeing how I've barely played it in six years, if not more, we'll see how badly I suck.
Um, howso?
