I am fuming. This is the most infuriating thing ever.
I've always wanted cloaks to be public. But now, I see it's going to be some TF2 hat thing. I LOATHE that. and the exclusive capes and that system, I hate that whole concept.
I am going to be getting a cape mod, that's for sure. I for one am really annoyed at this commercialisation of the tiniest little thing that stops total character customisation. Screw that.
Still, I guess it's good that the minecon people will get more things. I will however be getting a cape through modding, regardless of the decisions of mojang.

@GmansFan wow entitled much? Honestly I love the idea of the people who go out of their way to support a game we all love to getting something more. It is less that they pay for their capes and more of a thank you from mojang for going out and showing their fandom. Honestly when I saw your comment I was aghast that someone would not only feel cheated but then made a uncalled for passive aggressive remark twords mojang for releasing the newest update with a few bugs, when the purpose was to give players something new to have fun with. And honestly its a cape is it such a crime not to have one? I mean at least Kizzycocoa had a solution to his problem, all i hear from you is strait up self centered entitlement.

True...but im not sure if that includes EVERYTHING...im hoping at least if there is some sort of cash item shop we get that stuff for free.....but i do think its okay to have these capes for minecon attendees only...seeing as how they made all the effort to go there in the first place......

i cant go to MINECON!! Because i spent all my money on Mine craft, and spend my money running a server for mine craft 24/7 using all my net..

Yes it's absolutely infuriating! I don't care too much about not being able to afford going to Minecon, it's a shame, but whatever. When they start giving away exclusive things, though, my "GAHHHH I WANT IT" sensors go off and badger me into wanting to go. Can't afford it, so a bit of a paradox there. Anywho, if Minecon people get special cloaks, why not Alpha players? Beta players too, perhaps! Then we won't be left out, as you obviously can't wear several cloaks at once.
As long as capes don't become horse armor I'm fine.
As for my vote I think 1 could be cool.
Just wait, once I learn java, and Minecraft modding API is given, I shall turn it into an rpg, with character customization as the main feature. who needs mojang's capes when I can make legendary armor and spawn fireballs.

They didn't really "finish" the whole Adventure update. 1.9, and 1.10 are part of the adventure update. 1.9 is adding more content to the world and Nether, I believe 1.10 will start initializing the whole leveling system and skill points.

I actually thought that 1.8 should have been something like 2.0, seeing as it's a update that practically completely changed the gameplay of minecraft and not just some addon.

Don't be like one of those TF2 hat **** and personally this is better than the hats it's not a "Buy a minecon ticket and you get a cape!" it's a "Thank you for buying a minecon ticket to show our thanks we are giving you all a cape!" it is absolutely nothing to big it's just a look yeah it's cool but there's mods for it so if you want it go get a mod

it is just a cape, which is just some pixels. Are you mad because I can program model and do the art required to just add them if I wanted? I could, I could make a mod that adds capes but you know, I won't. You guys need to get over it.

Minecraft needs wardrobes where you can put on different clothing items purely for aesthetic purposes and the ability to change skins instantly...

I honestly like the fact that minecon attendees get something for free, but i think that notch should make capes an addon as well. I really want one, but i am not able to get one seeing as it is so far from me. Minecon alone costs a lot, and i definitely couldn't afford plane tickets and a hotel on top of that. Also, i don't mean to be a jackass, but if someone were to be really nice and get me a cloak, i would really be appreciative of it. I really want one and, if you are going to buy more than one ticket, why waste all those capes? May as well buy one of them seperately to donate a cape to someone who really wants one.
