Over the past few years MVPB has seen lots of bad and good things come and go. We have continued to work past them and do what we feel is best for the community and our development team. Over the last year the overall interest in our community has slowed, team members have come and gone and production has come to a complete stop. The remaining team members Axe56, SysRq, Simo and I have had several meetings discussing what needs to be done to successfully release MVPB, and we have come to the following conclusion.

There is no real way to revive MVPB the ut2k4 modification; there is no real way to complete our project. We have a lot of maps, a lot of models, and content but there is no true way to revive what we have started, the interest in our mod, and UT2K4 all together has slowed, and there is nothing left for us here. So what now? Where does that leave the team, and all the content we worked so hard on? Well that right there is the good part. The team will be releasing a Development Pack featuring most of the Maps, Textures, Models, Artwork, Etc used in creating MVPB content, and hopefully a small demo. You may ask yourself, But Why?

This is where it all gets exciting. After all the meetings we have come up with this timetable. In the amount of time it would take us to rebuild our staff, touch up our models, complete animations, coding, level tweaks and all the necessary tweaks for a successful release; we would be looking at later summer to the end of the year for a release. So that left us with one idea that just couldn’t go away. For those of you who don’t know Epic has stepped up their game quite a bit for the future by creating the Unreal 3 Engine. This is the gaming engine of the future for epic and other developers for several upcoming titles including a little something known as Unreal Tournament 2007.

That is where we will take you. In the time it would take to rebuild MVPB we will recreate our team, our level of work will enhance, and you will see that the Unreal 3 engine has endless possibilities for development of MVPB. This engine allows us to create things you’ve never thought we possible. How about going into a server and choosing 1 of the 4 fields there? How realistic would it be to be able to pick a field to play on when you log on to a server and see other people playing live around you? Eight teams playing at one time? This is just one idea that this engine will allow us to implant now imagine the others.

Maximum Velocity Paintball is no longer an UT2K4 Modification. We will be rebuilding our staff, recreating our identity, and we will successfully release MVPB for UT2K7 and create the best paintball game you have ever experienced. Here is a brief outline of our timetable and plan for MVPB. Expect constant updates regarding the mod, upcoming steps, plans, and weekly updates following our new website, we will keep you updated with even the smallest changes and overviews of staff meetings.

Phase 1
Step 1
- Recreate our Identity (New Website, Logo’s, PR Art, etc)
Step 2 -Release our Design Document & Timetable to Public
Step 3 -Recruit & Reevaluate our Staff
Step 4 – Begin Production (Phase 2)
