It hasn't been to long since this mod started and I think it sould be noticed by everybody and I have a good feeling it will be verry well accepted by Guilty Gear fans ^_^
As u already know Guilty Gear is a game that combines a fast combat gameplay with an anime theme..So, whazzap with Guilty Gear XX Tension? Well, GGXXT wants to move Guilty Gear to the new level, making it 3D respecting the aspects of the 2D ones
Now the media, we have released 4 shots of the Zepp elevator that l0d1z is working on
If u have any questions about the mod please visit the forum ^_^
...who let this one slip by?
Hammer shots for the lose. News post grammar for the lose.
I can see a lot of good coming from this mod.
With all due respect, the shots are ugly. He shouldn't have taken a shot of Hammer, but instead jumped ingame and taken shots. It would've looked a lot nicer. Otherwise, looks nice.
How does this stuff make it to the front page?
well as I was saying the map is still a Wip, and l0d1z sayed the the map is just 30% done, so it will look a lot different when it's finished :P
Can you explain why it shouldn't?
I assure you, when this will be finished it won't look like Hl1 ;)
heh well see! keep it up but next time youd be better off posting renders/ingame screenshots =>
@methulah
"Only news deemed of a quality standard will be shown on the main page. It could be rejected for any of the following common reasons:
- HTML / Formatting Mistakes
- Spelling Errors
- Large images (over 15k in size)
- Inappropriate content
- Help wanted requests
- Too short
- Too long / too dominating
- 6 images maximum per post (suggested 4 or less)
- Irrelevant news (i.e. we have forums)
- Contains invalid links"
From Moddb.com
No wonder if some critize moddb for a low standard when you let these things slip to the frontpage. Everything from the grammar to the screenshots is horrible.
Just as an additional note to my previous comment: I do however still admire all the volounteer work the people at moddb do for the community and that a newspost like this slips through doesn't matter much.
"I assure you, when this will be finished it won't look like Hl1" Then why the hell did you post stuff with it looking like HL1!?
this is rediculous, the mod should be embarresed by releasing this stuff
lol what pics XD
This is so gay, not for the content but just because this has been alowwed, my News post was not allowed for a couple of weeks just because of the size, Then u look at this, it's a discrace
Ah you guys, it aint that bad and this practically the same organization as I use for my previews though a tad better language.
Yeh im not saying the content is bad it's just annoys me that there seams to b some favroutism
What did your preview look like?
I dont have it any more as i changed mods
uh... the content is horrible, not bad. Im sorry... its just POOR.
However, if you create something worthwhile with this... I will admit I was wrong.
PROVE ME WRONG.
That's one huge elevator. Just make sure the static lighting is more or less the same throughout the shaft, because the lighting on a moving brush stays the same wherever it moves. If you want the elevator illuminated, but want it in a dark shaft, you should parent a dynamic light to it.
ookay well I did'nt know that he released my screenshots... I took them as a forum only thing.. so yeah.
well Raider451 I'll keep that in mind...
Minimal spelling errors. I've seen more on top mods than there are spelling errors here. Note that it says nothing about grammatical errors of any sort, and even then, these are fairly minimal. None of any of the rest, either.. Four images, all appropriate, no overdemanding help wanted requests, not too long, not too short, news is all relevant. No HTML errors or invalid links. Good stuff.
I really don't see why this is being taken so badly. Sure, give criticism, as long as it's constructive, but saying "how does this **** get authed lol" isn't doing anyone any good, and just makes you look like an ungrateful twat who has no respect for anything. If anyone wants to construct a good argument, referencing rules as to why this should not have been authed, my PM box is more than open.
methulah, couldn't you just edit the spelling errors, then, and fix the problems yourself? That's part of being a news auth, tell me if I'm wrong.
I'm not news auth. I just think it's crappy that people are flaming this news post without presenting valid points of criticism. I didn't auth it, and I've never done any news authing in my life.
im more ****** that this got 4 images and 1/2 of nightfalls got cut off and chunkys isnt replying
@Ippo
My understanding is that the News Auths just accept the news or decline it based on whether or not they feel it meets moddb's standards or not.
@methulah
I wasn't asserting my opinion, more attempting to explain how people like 3pidemiC could see it as not being worthy. Also people might suggest there's Inappropriate content in the form of the smilies and as one person described the text 'rambling'. Admittedly these are only two of the criteria I posted but the way I read it was 'It could be rejected for any of the following' so a new post had to only fail to meet one of the criteria. I think part of people's problem is that the news posting seems to be somewhat uneven, so one authoriser might allow something to be posted which another would not. Also potentially people might visit moddb and see news posts with bad grammar and spelling and dismiss the site which could remove potential productive members. I don't know how to reconcile this with moddb's community which extends to many people how do not speak English as a first language (and ideally any policy should not cause trouble for them).
I'm not sure what the solution to this is. Perhaps moddb could work on somewhat of a content guide (as many journalistic organisations have) which defines exactly (in more depth then the present criteria) what standard a news post has to be in order to be authorised which could then be used to provide a uniform set of standards which all news posts will meet. This would alleviate problems such as myles on the previous page where he feels discriminated against. I guess this sort of discussion is something for you and the staff to discuss in the private forums, If you and the other staff feel it is a issue at all.
I actual think that the brushwork in the lift is quite effective particularly in the corners of the lift in the top left screenshot and the floor patterns are simple but effective. I'm not familiar with the Guilty Gear games but I would try the modification if it is released. I probably should have said that before to balance out the other post but rash thinking and all that.
I apologise if my previous post seemed unnecessarily negative. :redface:
I agree with J1mmmy, what good is stuf like this doing for this mod? it just gives them a bad reputation... and the same fro ModDB
:redface: No no I don't have any problem with the post, I just think this sort of thing could potentially do that.
On another topic:
To Testament, l0d1z and the rest of the Team, do you have permission from the Guilty Gear creators?
Cause there's plenty of precedent for stuff like this getting shut down because of copyright issues. Something you might want to be careful with.
A 2D Sprite based fighting game gets translated to the Source Engine... how? And why? How do the two even remotely relate to each other? How can you even plan to incorporate ANYTHING people liked from the 2D games?
