So lately I've been having some thoughts about doing a compilation of HTC, Autonomy Lost and Abeyance, i.e. put all of the maps from the three mods into one single big mod so it could be played as seamlessly as possible.
However, I ask here first to see if there would even be some interest in doing it in the first place. So I ask, would anyone be interested in something like this? If I would it'd be a fairly large task, i.e. I would go through each map, fix any glaring issues with them (especially the big rooms in Autonomy Lost) and spice them up a bit (especially the HTC maps since they lack the visual quality of the two later mods).
I actually started some preliminary work, although fairly minor, a couple of years ago but I stopped since I spent most of my free time mapping for the AMC TC. But lately, as I've said, I've been thinking of returning to it again.
If you're interested post your thoughts and share anything that you'd like to see fixed. Or if you'd think this whole thing would just be a huge waste of time.
I think its good idea, HTC and its sequels was really fun, especially if you update maps of HTC as you mentioned it definitely will worth replaying.
Would be great experience! I liked all parts of this adventure, so it sounds like a very cool idea for me.
I was asking for this since day one, you can still find my comment (from 2017!) asking the same question, on the Autonomy Lost page.
I'd say do it, make it the definitive edition of your mods, with slight tweaks and additions, it would definitely be a worthy project to undertake.
That sound great.
i think that'd be pretty cool actually
also i love how this gets posted literally like 2 days after i finish replaying the trilogy
You should definitely do it! I think it would take your project one step higher, from being one of the various cool but underplayed smaller mods for hl1 to one of the essential unmissable major mods for the game.
I am interested.
That would be great!!
I really like this idea!
It will be cool! And doing some revision for optimization and fixes will be appreciated! I suggest to keep models to low poly for good perfomance in low-end PC and laptops. But you can add High poly as an optional modification. And something less important but as an idea, improve the animations of the view models weapons, they lack agressiveness and look boring...
Awesome work with those mods. I really enjoyed playing them <3
You should definitely combine them if it's not too hard as I feel like they would be a more complete package that way. I just finished the trilogy and it was great. Abeyance was really impressive, but definitely the shortest one. Autonomy Lost was not as impressive as HTC, but it was still a nice middle chapter.
