This is the Final Post here all other news will be posted on our website from here on out!
Ok so first things first, Thanks to Trauma our Web designer we now officially have the pimpest site ever, It might be modified down the road so stay tuned to all of that. We currently have two finished in-game models and we have the finished ski-cabins (used for transporting players back up to the top of the mountain) *tears of joy*. Kickflipkid Completed the first two in-game models and they seem pretty good looking, rough drafts but good looking rough drafts and he is performing touch-ups on those. In the upcoming week we should have a set of accessories for you guys to check out and hopefully a sample player model complete, you guys will be in for a treat.
Behind the scenes we are currently designing "testmaps" to play with the half-life 2 physics and this game is very possible to create and maintain the way how snowboarding "feels" in real life and hopefully within the next month we will have some sort of alpha testing with the new model complete and messing around on the hills, We will be sure to keep you guys posted on the inside scoops if they are good enough.
Also in the Mapping department I am currently making the "testmaps" as stated above but we are also doing researching and development behind the scenes as to how to create such massive mountains with tracks on the limitations that the half-life 2 engine gives us. This engine doesn't seem to hold any grudge to us just manipulating it to do what we need it to do and keeping those r_speeds way down to keep the playable level smooth. View distances will be incredible I kid you not. We also have a few tricks in our pockets to make this world come to life and seem more realistic than playing in a "box" like area. Stay tuned for more mapping details later on this week.
This is the spot where we ask for help from the community, so first off if you guys and gals are interested at all in this modification please come on out and stop by our chatroom #Freestyle.mod @gamesurge.net.
