In order to bring the development process of TO: Crossfire closer to you, Matrixed, part of our modeling and skinning department, wrote an interesting article in our forums.

It covers the time consuming process of creating a weaponmodel, addressing modeling, uv-mapping and skinning, and discusses the different phases of bringing it ingame, featuring WIP screenshots of a nearly finished weapon to clarify.
