First article outlining ideas for my game, Braindead!

Just a weekend educational project for myself where I'm making a game using Unity called Braindead.

Done so far:

  • Client/Server Architecture (mostly server authoritative, soon...).
  • Network Interpolation (0.1 millisecond buffer time to smooth mob/player movement).
  • Health/Stamina (Stamina used for attacking!)
  • Zombies/Players/In world Objects.
  • Minimal Zombie AI (Chasing, Idle, Attacking, Patrolling).
  • Inventory and using items (so far only a potion that restores HP).
  • Chat System.
  • Name Plates
  • Player User Interface

To do:

  • A* Path finding.
  • Better Zombie AI.
  • Expanded Items (Scriptable, Equipment, Consumables, Quality).
  • Graphics.
  • Official Servers (Amazon EC2).
