So first let me start by wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from the entire production team here at Pulse Studios we sincerely hope you all have an excelllent Christmas period.
So to the news now, well first were going to start by showing you some of our character development. Last time you got a glimpse of some of the concept work developed by Lee Kellet and a chance to see some of the concepts for the German characters. Well this time were going to let you see how one of those characters has developed, the German Para Trooper or Fallschirmjager.
As Heavy Steel is set in an alternate timeline it allows us a level of creative licence that we intend to use when developing the characters, vehicles and indeed the environments in which the players will find themselves battling over. So one of the main things we wanted to do was to take the typical 1940's era architecture and give that style a unique twist while trying to stay true to the technology and materials available at that time. Below you will find Work In Progress images of one of the factory type buildings typical to the maps in Heavy Steel.
So what about the weapons?? I hear you scream, and if not then you should be because finally for this edition of the news, were going to show you one of our fully developed and complete weapons. Taking the design philosphy we have in place, of keeping to the original period style while at the same time bringing a unique twist. We would like to present to you the Lee-Enfield Rifle, this deadly bolt action rifle will be the main equipment of the British Infantry. Equipped with 10 Round clip and a deadly bayonnet this Rifle will shed many lives in the defence of England.
So thats about it for this edition of the Heavy Steel news. On behalf of everyone at Pulse Studios I would like to once again Wish you a Merry Christmas and thank you all for your support through 2009. We shall see you all back in 2010 and dont forget to vote for your favourite mod of 2009 ;)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
