Dear community,
in today's news we'll focus on the Goa'uld as we've made essential progress there that we want to share with you.
You are already familiar with the new hover tank - but how about the infantry? As you know many different types of Jaffa were introduced in the Stargate SG-1 TV series. A lot of them just had tattoos on their forehead, however, there were also those who wore special helmets - and these are the ones which we want to present to you today.
Of course you recognized them: The Anubis Guard, the Horus Guard and the Serpent Guard. These three Jaffa types will fulfill a certain role in Anubis' ground forces. While the regular Jaffa will only be lightly armored and serve their role as a standard infantry the Serpent Guard will act as heavy infantry unit and be capable of taking on stronger opponents. The Horus Guard will be used for anti-air purposes and the Anubis Guard as an anti-vehicle unit. However, they will not be available from the beginning: In the story GC's you have to defeat the respective system lord in order to integrate them into the forces of the most powerful Goa'uld of all time.
Speaking of Anubis, can you recognize this planet?
Since no designation was assigned to this planet in the TV series, we have decided to call it "Mastarba". It will be Anubis' homeworld in the GCs and also be available as a skirmish map.
We're making notable progress with the galactic conquests and with the next news we're going to present you some progress of the ground part. Furthermore, we've started working on a very special GC to shorten the time waiting for the ground part to be finished. It will be a space-only GC and include a short story line which many of you asked us to do. We hope to be able to present you the first information about it soon so make sure to drop by from time to time!
Finally let's have a short glimpse beyond the horizon. This winter, we'll bring you a new skirmish feature that has never been part of any FoC mod before. Prepare yourselves for the ultimate battle for earth, defend the planet and change the fate of the galaxy! (Try to read this with an epic voice:D)
Stay tuned for more in the next news!
Yours,
SGMG

Awesome !!!
:D
Keep up the good work peep's.
You guys are back on my radar in the biggest of ways...
Looks amazing, almost as if you took it directly from the TV show :D
The planet looks great too, but in my opinion it doesn't fit Anubis at all, i was kinda expecting something dark and gloomy for him, but ohh well :D
There is also still Tartarus and Delmak if you want a "dark" planet.^^
Really awesome!
its incredible, i cant wait to see the Christmas article.
Exited to see the new stuff!
Woo! Jaffa!
"Mastarba"
I bet Anubis does that when he sees this mod.
Sorrynotsorry.
Great job guys, cant wait till the space only GC is out.
Great news! Can't wait for the space GC. And in the long run, for the ground battles (especially for the Wraith ground forces, I hope those walker-tanks that were somewhere in the images section will make it to the game ^^ )
Ohhh they will ^^. It would be sutch a shame not to have them ^^.
I don't think Anubis did anything on Mastarba aside from using the overloader.
Lore nitpicking aside, great graphics and even better news! :D (Also, way to counter my urge to comment on the conspicuous lack of helmetless Jaffa. *chuckles*)
Brilliant!
...but why no Seth guard? ;p
...Jaffa Jokes...
Because we never saw one. :)
I think the animal representing Setesh was shown in an image, though. One could extrapolate from known Jaffa helmets and the shape of the animal. (Also, the article on Setesh Guards displays an ornament that is apparently based on their helmets.)
Well, I think it could be too similar to the Anubis Guard (jackal). Apart from that we don't want to add just several Jaffa with other helmet and the same weapons and roles. As you can read in the news every Jaffa has its own role and different weapon (light, heavy, anti-air and anti-vehicle infantry).
Great job! Thus far I mostly used heavy infantry... Well I think now I will turn to the anti-vehicle infantry; Those Anubis Guards are really cool. :D
nice work really nice

Any chance you can add ninja Jaffa ?
