Battle of the Frontiers (August 7, 1914 - August 25, 1914). The biggest battle of World War I, in which both sides attended by about 3,000,000 people. Ended by victory of Germany's army. German troops, following a series of successful operations in the Ardennes, Lorraine, Alsace and Belgium, have managed to push back the Allied troops (mainly French) on French territory and continued to advance in the direction of Paris. However, after these successes , despite the superiority in numbers and favorable operational position, german troops were unable to complately defeat the French army.
