It has been a while since I have posted some new updates for my mod; unfortunately days are not long enough to do some good progress. However this post will not disappoint! I have re-created the entire first level of Portland due to some gameplay issues which I have occurred in the original. Anyways the new level is way better and that's the main point, below are some screens of the new first level, there are some issues with lighting which will obviously be fixed in time.

There is one major thing I need to ask you fellow modders on an issue and ran into with the Orange Box engine, which ended me to go back to the Ep 1 engine. I do prefer the Orange box but if it cannot be fixed im left with no choice. The problem is the fire texture will not load up. I create an env_fire but it will not show the fire, it will give me damage but no fire texture if you know of a fix for this I will give you a cyber Hi-FIVE.

On other news I have gotten a job to work on a game, this game is a community project and I will love you guys to take part. The game we are creating will take part with the Game On Exhibition in Queensland, Australia. The game that we have confirmed is called B-Grade, which is a platformer which involves the player to do stunts in B-Grade movies. It will be fast paced action with humour. For more details visit our website and find your way to the forums Studio-gameon.com it should be under communicate.

So please jump on the forums and give us ideas to put into the game, plus you can send in your concepts, wither it be characters or landscapes, anything will be AWESOME. If you're a programmer and knows how to program in Action Script 3.0 why not send in snippets of your code to add to the game or even help our programmers with hardcore problems.

Oh and this will help you understand what we are creating and our limited time frame. We are only given 6 weeks to create a game from scratch, so we are doing it in flash, but we are not creating a game that you usually see in miniclip or newgrounds we are trying to create a professional 2d flash game. So this is pretty much our aim for the game.

Okay one final thing, if you live in Brisbane, Australia or near its region we have an open public day in which you can come in and contribute in the flesh. So if you're interested just post up on the forums and we'll sort you out with our location.

By the way I'm in the art team XD.

We have hit 1 week down which means that there's only 5 weeks left till the game making ends, so please contribute.

Thanks heeps guys and girls,

Clyde aka Drakar.

It's nice but make the celing more intresting and use spotlights instead of lights

My mapper had the same problem with fire, its really a simple fix, you have to add and env_firesource or something like that to ignite the env_fire you already placed.

hope that helps, good luck

the orange box uses particles for fire instead of the ep1 sprite based fire.
So basicly you need to add the corresponding particle fire system.
